Bourkey
I have a machine buffer that im going to give it a bash with shortly. I will see what happens. Either way it will probably need spraying at some point to make it look perfect. .MOT is fast approaching now so i think im going to start on servicing it. I plan to change all the brake pads and shoes in the very near future so it's perfect for the MOT. There is nothing else wrong with the car now apart from the new rear suspension needs going on. Just waiting for the last shock & spring to be delivered this week. I'll try and get some pictures today as well .Bourkey
Bourkey
Howdy!!!After a bit of hard work this weekend the car is AGAIN running perfect with no problems at all . Me and Markoos spent all of today cleaning the cars so they were super dooper shiney. We used the Meguires 3 step system. The paint on both cars feels as smooth as glass. And as promised here are some new updated pictures of what the SR now looks like.New exhaust The Glanza rear end.The front. Needs a respray but still looking smart. The lovely new maniThe engine. No EFI pipe as the turbo is currently meshed. Will be making a filter to go straight off the turbo shortly .UKSC FTW TTE spoiler FTW One last shotComing this week are the rear shocks and spring to go with the ones that are now on the front. Im so happy with the car again. Since finishing it this weekend i don't want to drive it. It's too clean and i don't want anything to go wrong .Bourkey
Sparky
Mate I would be so happy, The back end is complete now IMO, looks smart as hell!!!Would you recommend the 3 step stuff? What do you get nd for how much?? Shes looking uber shiny
Bourkey
Believe me i am chuffed. Im scared of driving it now though. It's so clean and everything is working perfectly i don't want anything to go wrong again. I drove so slowly to work today. I highly recommend doing the 3 step stuff. As you can see looking at the TTE spoiler picture, the shine on the paint is amazing. What i use is, T Cut metallic restorer to clean the paint. Some people don't like it but i've never had a problem with it. Then i use Meguires deep polish i think it's called. This apparently prepares the surface for wax. Then i use Meguires Carnuba Wax. This finishes the car off to a beautiful shine and a glass feel finish. Do it Sparky you will not be disappointed .Im going to Halfords tonight as i actually want a radio now. They have had the DVD player for too long so im going to start moaning now .Bourkey
kevink
The car is looking stunning Bourkey!!Meg's works a charm really know what you mean of not wanting to drive it cause its gonna go all dirty by the way, what type of FMIC is that?and you are using the N/A radiator right? is it sufficient? And if you relocate your radiator bottle, do you have the space to locate a filter there for you turbo? Like next to the radiator? Thanks for the info man!
SiCaln
awesome work on that bumper man, looks good as new
Idrees
Spot on, car looks amazing mate.
keirz
looks really well mate. top work, would be good to see it at the RR meet on the 18th
Bourkey
Thanks for the comments guys. @ Kevink - The FMIC is a Japspeed one. I got it off Dave Burwash. Good cooler as well. Pipes popping out of the silicone was a bit annoying at the start but stronger clips sorted that out. Im using an N/A radiator but something isn't right with mine. It drains the coolant out of the bottle and puts water back into it . I've heard of people running much bigger power than me on SR radiators so it must be ok enough.Just make sure you use decent coolant . My coolant bottle is also in the same place. I didn't need to relocate it but if i did there is plenty of space for a filter.Everyone keep mentioning that rolling road day. I think you are all forcing me to go . Still didn't get the radio back from Halfords. It's getting annoying now but i do get to listen to the car driving. Best sound track in the world Bourkey
Sparky
Cool was going to get a Glanza radiator, looks like I wont need to then, for a while at least
Bourkey
Here is a quick picture update. This is the new rocker cover that my dad buffed up. It's not a mirror finish but it looks equally smart.Next thing to get is a Sard rising rate fuel pressure regulator. This is so i can run at 1 bar .The latest mod was a brand new MOT test certificate. It originally failed as one of the shocks was loose so i tightened it and went back to get the pass . I did have an advisory though. It says i have no rear seats or seat belts. WELL DUUURRRRRRRR ;).Bourkey
Sparky
Looking good bud, was it hard to do?Lol well done on the MOT I also had the same advisory I was like wtf, I think I know I have no rear seats ;)Another advisory was stiff suspension
Bourkey
No it wasn't hard at all. Took my dad about 20 minutes to do it. If you want it doing just chuck a rocker cover in the post to me and i'll get him to do it for you. He can even get it to a mirror finish but that takes a good while and i couldn't be bothered waiting.Yeah the garage that i went to are very good. I have never been there before but they were recommended by a friend to me. I was very cautious as i hate going places i have never been before. My last local garage had put my shoes on, the rear drums, wrong. They pointed it out to me yesterday at the new garage. The left one has been set too tight so it was rubbing all the time. It doesn't need new ones yet but i've got some to put on next week.I have seen your suspension. It is waaaaayyyyy to stiff for my liking ;).Bourkey
SiCaln
that looks really smart man, u gna lacquer it to keep the finish?!
Bourkey
Don't need to laquer it. My dad put some special stuff on it. I can't rememeber what it is called though. I'll ask him when i next see him ;). I also got my interior smartened up this weekend. It was looking a bit rough and the DVD headunit was fitted badly. I pulled my thumb out and sorted it all out. I also have a little single din cubby hole below the radio now. I then give it the first cleaning in about 4 months and got a new car scent air freshener to make it smell lurrrrrrrrrrvly!!!!! .I didn't manage to get the seats in this weekend but they will definately be going in next weekend. I've got a welding wizkid to do them for me. He also added the bracket to the new exhaust system to keep it more stable. Doesn't move at all now .Bourkey
Idrees
Awesome mate, this is my favourite SR! ;)
Sparky
Could you tell me what he used to get it polished up like that, would rather have a go myself as I have the engine sitting here doing nothing
Bourkey
Awesome mate, this is my favourite SR!Thanks a lot bud i try my best . It's come a long way since i have got it. I was thinking about the day i first got it. The weird smell, the rough looking paintwork, The stained mats and the "No Fear" stickers on the sides . It's not come as far as you SR though. Yours isn't even recognisable anymore. I remember seeing the white beast a few days after you got it.Could you tell me what he used to get it polished up like that, would rather have a go myself as I have the engine sitting here doing nothing. You need a metal polishing buffer. I don't know where you get them from as my dad uses meaty industrial ones. You also use some magical stuff with it to help clean it but i still can't rememeber what it is called. I'll ask my dad when he is back from a business trip. Mine isn't a mirror finish though. It's still a rough surface but a very clean one. My dad can easily get it to a mirror finish but i couldn't be bothered waiting ;). He has also coated it with something to stop it corroding. Again the name has disappeared but i'll get both names for you .Tomorrow...well today the seats are going in . A comfortable throne at last. I'll get some good pictures of them in. They will be more at home in my car than the awful standard blue ones ;).Bourkey
briggers
very nice car dude. if only i knew about starlets when i passed my test i so would have done what you have done. all the best for ruture modding.

All in good time (when i can be bothered)@ Glanza Love - Sleepers rule end of . I took the sleeper idea off Dub^^^^^ I am going to start sorting through all my photos tonight. I have taken oveer 1000+ off my camera from various things including stuff from doing my car. The seats are in as Craig has pointed out and the are so much more comfortable than the standard seats. They hold me in on the corners as well .Bourkey
