BOV to Flutter

Guys,

Bit of a n00b question. I have a FMIC, relocated apex air filter and a HKS BOV. Just wondering how i would get her to flutter instead of dumping? Hope you can help

Easiest way in my option is take the DV off and bloke up that port on your ic pipe that will make it chatter

Or get an adjustable D.V that way you can have the best of both worlds

They can leak if you do that... Depends how stiff the spring is!

assuming you have the HKS SSQV BOV wind the screw in as tight as it will go, that'll stiffen the spring. Mine stalls and under heavier boost will stall then dump, I have an early SSQV

I have streched a 2mm silicon hose over my HKS SSQV and the Vaccum pip on the inlet and mine flutters and dumps if i boost hard enough

Its all down to how much boost your running and the strength of the spring. Mine dumps under high pressure chatters at low. You can take it off and it will chatter all the time.

im running 0.9/1 bar boost, thanks for all your advice fellas . So either remove and block hold, or tighen the screw and tut tut tut tut boom!

Yup, mines blocked just like everyone has said! Hoping to get a new IC pipe made up without a BOV port in the near future.

Is this bad for the turbo? i was thinking of doing this myself but wasnt sure if it would do any harm...

Will be fine some say it reduces the life of the turbo some say it dosen't it's personal preference bud chatter FTW

I blocked off the BOV pipe off the intercoller and blocked the vacuum pipe but don't get any chatter at all, someone please advise..

Is it still boosting ok? As in no leaks? Do you still just have the standard CT9?

If you dont have a relocated airfilter you wont hear it as loud also the standard CT9 has a very small comp intake and the wheel only has 8 blades rather than 12 so when it flutters it tends to sound like a woosh rather than a chatter.

I am still on a ct9 setup although i do have a relocated air filter, if i just block off the vacuum hose will it still flutter. rather than block them both? it made a DV kind of noise, even though there wasnt a DV installed. i love the sound of chatter so hopefully can get mine doing it. lol i do have a HKS SSQV but mine doesnt have a bolt for adjustment :S it was installed when i brought the car.

Yeah if you block the vac pipe that will stop the bov opening and cause flutter but like i said and you may have noticed a standard CT9 comp wheel is quite small and only had 8 blades so it doesnt give off much of a chatter noise due to the lack of blades it tends to sound more like a dump valve.

If I rember rightly on full boost it used to make a loud single noise like a dv and when not boosting full it chattered a lot
