iamlegend
cant say am a fan of the sound at all dudey but hey its yo motor yo!
Jamie5414
Yeah, As I say i'll get something to quieten it down, It is far to loud for any type of use lol, It may change in sound once it's bedded in, that was only 30 minutes after fitment lol
Starlet-Joshy
Sounds raspy tbf! is it loud inside the car? or is it not that bad?
Jamie5414
It is as I've got the rear bench and carpet out, but if they where in it wouldn't be as bad I don't think, Not insanely loud but it does get annoying after 30+ mins
Flynn
Lol mine sounded like that when I fitted the hotshots and straight through......had to put the cat back on to quiet it down a bit, it was painful and made an old lady literally fall over hahaha
Flynn
I drove mine up to Japfest last year like it....Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! For 2 hours lol
littlegreenmonster
I suppose if you put a couple of small silencers in then it might not change how raspy it is but would just quieten it down plus with added back pressure it might have a bit more go
rmsnoel
A db killer off ebay for £10 gives u a nice option if u need her quiet for a bit
Jamie5414
Interesting, Will look into them rmsnoel, it's a nice easy solution and can just pop it in and test it first before drilling
littlegreenmonster
hmmm yeah but surely that would take some of the sound away ?? So it wouldn't be as raspy ?? Or am I wrong on that ??
GlanzaJim
Not bad mate!
rmsnoel
It would be alittle quiter and ALOT more raspy- think irish twincam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PKaja9cu6M&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Jamie5414
LOL amazing. Ordered a stainless baffle from Keith so that'll be with me shortly Also need to get some sound deadening for the back before making a false floor, not sure on what to get, the small pads you just stick down or a massive roll so it goes on in one with no seams. The throttle seems to be a lot more responsive now, Really impressed with it, I'll need to get it on a rolling road at some point Edited February 28, 2014 by Jamie5414
littlegreenmonster
How you gonna fit it ?? Or does it just slot in the end ??
Jamie5414
It just slots in the end and you have to drill a small hole where it's not noticable in the exhaust to fit a bolt through and into the baffle, to stop it from coming out
Jamie5414
Started to die-grind down my new rocker cover today as it's easier before I weld my JIC fittings onto it, taking off the strips & Toyota as I like the look of them smooth Need to look for a HKS Mushroom Filter & Some aluminium 51mm straight pipe! Then I'll send the pipe, rocker cover, inlet mani & TB off for powder coating all in the same colour.
Jamie5414
Not much progress at the moment, Just finished my training course so the starlet can be worked on now without rushing to get it running again. Exhaust baffle arrived from Keith, Scrubbed it down and ready to fit it Had it wedged in just to try it, Exhaust is much more normal sounding now and not like a subaru , it still has a nice rasp at mid-high revs though Haven't drove it with it in yet but will do once it's secured in properly . *Fitted, Threaded the baffle and got a m.8 Stainless button head as a grub screw, some green locktite on the bolt, exhaust paste around the baffle, job done Excuse the dirtyness Edited March 8, 2014 by Jamie5414

My brother came inside and said "Do you know about the scuff on your rear bumper?" I'm like....No..... It is really fucking pissing me off now with SHITTY drivers in my college car park!!!! I was only there for two weeks and yet it gets damaged lol.....I luckily park right above a CCTV camera, so I've contacted the college to get the footage from last week and see what fucker did it without leaving details.
