Ollieh17
Noticed water in the back after stripping it out?!?! Any idea where it could be coming from, already removed grommets and put sealant on them already?
fremyjay
ive had the same sitting behind my rear passenger light, keep drying it up and selaed everywhere still cant seem to find it
daniel_g
I had it in my old GT, i reckoned it was coming in the rear windows because it felt that they were never fully shut. Never got round to fixing it though. Tiny puddle in the 85 boot aswell ghrrr :/
Ollieh17
Is it likely to cause alot of problems? Like rust etc?
daniel_g
If you leave it sitting there then yeah it'll eventually rust. For now ive just taken the grommet out because my car is off the road but i'll need to look into it.Check all around the rear lights, bet it'll be comin in through there. morgey
not quite the same but my bother had a crx that was leaking, he had to cut a few little notches out the bottom of the rubber seal around the boot to let the water out of it, other wise it filled up and leaked inside the car. might be something to consider
Ollieh17
Will have a look at the weekend...explains the car getting so fogged up
AdamB
Theres some rubber grommets behind the rear lights, its those that leak generally.
Ollieh17
I had a quick look and looks like its coming from under the rear plastics by the drivers side rear window? Suppose that could be fed from the rear light. Will check out these grommets and put some extra sealant around them.
AdamB
You can tell if its coming from the light cluster. If you look in the boot under where the light sits, you can see the rubber grommet, it kinda thins out to a point where it gets pushed through. Mine had water/droplets on the tip of this rubber. If its coming from the window area I would probably guess its a poor sealing rubber on the window, although I would expect the water to head down into the inner arch or the rear seat well if it was coming from there. jellybaby
tip sit in boot get a friend if possible to spray the back of the car with a pressure washer or hose pipe and see where it coming in from
jayc-glanza17
I had this issue two years ago in my glanza..its the rear passenger lights, the rubber seal leaked, put a new set of lights on I found down scrappy, and hasn't leaked since.
chrisdeadcell
Try taking the rear lights out and buying a tube of black silicone sealant from a motor factors or halfrauds, Clean up the original seal and the paint where the light seal pushes up to the car. Then on the original seal put a even amount of silicone around, and refit your lights.
Ollieh17
Tried everywhere with a hose...no leaks. Turned out it was coming up through one of the grommets in the back, so re siliconed that and alls okay
Gainzy
Buy some masking tape and stick it in places where you think it's getting wet first bit that gets wet trace it back that's what I did
