Starlet-Joshy
Sounds good buddy!, Get some pics up mate!
Azz
Td06 on a plug and play ecu is rather risky, they were designed for ct9/td04 usage.Plus I will be surprised if the jam ecu will be able to make the nessercery adjustments to spool such a big turbo Edited January 12, 2014 by Azz
_shaun_
Its a very large turbo to run aswell is it on stock engine? What power are you looking for
Thomastaylor
The engine only has stock internals everything else as been changed pretty much
_shaun_
I'd go for a td04 then mate. Td06 is far to big for a stock engine just add more lagg
Thomastaylor
Already have TD04 on it but just fancy a bigger one as everyone seems to have a TD04 and I have read on hear that someone had one fitted and yeah they are more laggy but awesome when they get on boost
Amjad
You won't have much usable rpm, but should be interesting to see how it fares with that ECU. Welcome!
Thomastaylor
Cheers for all the help guys I will give it ago and see how it is and will let you know
Thomastaylor
Or I myt look at a KS Rom ECU are they any good?
Amjad
It does the same thing as a JAM ecu!
TurboTobz
try a larger td04 or go td05 or vf first, if you like the lag grab the td06 but theres not been many to ever run one and those who have were running high spec engines to make the most out of the turbo, 1bar on a 06 will be well out of its efficiency zone, same with a td05 but I have had a td05 on 1bar and it was very fun...If your set on it, try it man… It's cool to be different, and would be interesting as amjad pointed out. Thomastaylor
Yeah if I do run it should I set it at 1bar will that damage my engine at all and what should I watch for with using a P&p ECU ? Edited January 13, 2014 by Thomastaylor
maddox710
Yeah if I run it it at 1bar will that damage my engine at all ?The turbos efficiency would be above 1 bar and you'd have to wait till next week to hit it no point in running it
Thomastaylor
Haha ok mate I will stick with the TD04 for now then until I do complete internal forge on the engine an run higher boost Edited January 13, 2014 by Thomastaylor
Zeldoz
Haha ok mate I will stick with the TD04 for now then until I do complete internal forge on the engine an run higher boost Hybrid TD04 quicker spool, more power! If you forge it your love it
Thomastaylor
Going to get the car looking all pretty for Japfest and try and maybe get it forged later in the year
mikey4410
the reason everybody goes td04 is because it works superbly well all round on a small starlet engine.a td06 is so overkill u wont have any usable rev range and it makes for a slow car.a car that makes good power through the rev range is quicker and much more fun than a car thats high powered but for a short part of the revs.
Liam_D
Go for it if you really want it, but a TD06 will be far too much for a unforged glanza to spool. By all means go for it though and be different!
EP-Azz
Hybrid TD04 quicker spool, more power! If you forge it your love itNo really, I'm running tuning developments billet hybrid td04 and spool wasn't any different really, or power but would love to forge it
akyakapotter
No really, I'm running tuning developments billet hybrid td04 and spool wasn't any different really, or power but would love to forge it My mate has a td hybrid and it's insane

daniel_g
For the money of a TD04 hybrid, £400+, you could pick up a meaty VF and have a stack of change.

This is true, don't get me wrong when it spools it spools but I've never felt a 'normal' td04 compared to my hybrid
daniel_g
A normal TD04 spool is decent, i was getting 1 Bar @ 3400rpm. Took a bit of messing about with an AVCR to get there. Also some fairly short IC pipes and heatwrapped exhaust mani right down to the backbox, dont know if the heatwrap did anything because i fitted it all at the same time lol.Thats why i can never understand when people say TD04s are laggy haha, set em up right and they are really responsive. What kinda figures do you get from the hybrid Azz ?
