mindless
I never though I'd get to write this post So about 2 years ago I set about acquiring this neglected Glanza.Got it for cheap as it didn't come with a engine. The previous owner fancied himself to be a tuner and blew the engine messing about with his emanage. Don't even get me started with fake-ass trd livery.Anyway, just so I could save this little gem from being parted out I bought her. 2 years passed and because of lack of time, resources and difficulty in getting her shipped over to where I am I was not able to get started with building her up. Until now.Fresh off the boat! She's in worse condition now because she's been sitting outside for the whole 2 years. In preparation for the rebuild I got myself this tasty little bit.Probably the freshest Glanza halfcut I've ever come across. Completely stock with only 102t KMs on the clock. Serviced IN TOYOTA at 100t Kms.Check out the JDM Toyota Service card:The best part is that it came with these babies:Practically brand new Blitz DamperZZ-R! We still have to start any major work on the shell. But we have started to bag and tag all the parts from the half cut so we can transplant them onto the shell once its been prepped. For now enjoy these "pre-prep" photos of both the shell and the halfcut:First wash in years!Test fitting the face lift bumper. It didn't come with the optional OEM chin which makes the car look awkward because it has side and rear skirts. Will probably have to mod the old gen 1 chin to fit the gen 2 bumper until I find an gen 2 one. Edited February 2, 2015 by mindless
Amjad
Awesome! Great to see another project from you What are the plans, spec wise?
Starlet-Joshy
Cracking base!, big fan of stickered race cars, and on a Glanza looks sweet! Awesome find on that suspension!, looks fresh! Gonna keep my eye on this thread!

mindless
Thanks guys! The plan at the moment is just to get the shell prepped and painted. I already have a race car so I'm not looking for crazy power on this one. I might actually leave it stock engine-wise and just concentrate on making it look really nice. That said I do have a spare TD04L lying around and we've recently converted the race car to run a Crome-tuned Honda ECU, so the EMU and AVCR are free for use on the Glanza. mindless
Apologies for the crappy phone pics. Dropped by late last night to sneak a peek at the progress so far. Fake TRD paint stripped!!! Test fitted all the donor panels and doors from the half cut.

Starlet-Joshy
The livery looked pretty cool haha nice to see another getting saved Agreed mate!, nice to see a glanza with a livery!
mindless
I agree with you both – if it was original livery or if this was a real TRD glanza I wouldn't mind having the trd livery on. But its neither.
mindless
A few more updates: Finally got my OEM spec splitter for the face lifted bumper. Fits perfectly! Coincidentally I found the actual seats that came with the Glanza halfcut I bought. They will need some reupholstery though as they were damaged when they were shipped over from Japan Everything useable from the halfcut has been stripped and put into boxes. All bolts, clips put into zip lock bags and tagged. What's left of the halfcut: Removing all the shitty bits from the shell: The wheels for the car have also arrived! 15x7.5 ET +20 TE37V's Arches will need a bit of work to fit these. mindless
So this is how we make imported RHD cars road legal here in the Philippines. We do an LHD conversion. The original car actually had a conversion done on it already, but because it's usually done by un-skilled contract workers on the dock when it lands from Japan – they do a really shitty job. So we decided to re-do the conversion ourselves using bits of the halfcut chassis. Left to right and right to left Mocking it up
Starlet-Joshy
Nice progress mate!, Updates are good!, and those wheels look awesome. Liking your cheeky black ek9 in the pic ;)
mindless
Thanks! Hahaha I'm excited to get the starlet and ek9 together to do a shoot
fremyjay
Looks good, must be a pain having to convert it, what do you do with regards to the dashboard?
mindless
@fremjay very clever fiber work to cut and piece it together in the right orientation... For cars that have LHD versions that are available locally we just buy the local version of the dashboard (like in my EK9) Unfortunately the Glanza/Reflet has never been released at all locally so we have to modify the dashboard for now. Meanwhile I've already sourced out an LHD dashboard from an NA EP91 but it will take months to arrive. Edited March 24, 2014 by mindless

mindless
Ladies and Gents, the fabbed LHD firewall. We tried to preserve all the proper OEM holes... unlike with old firewall that had the shitty conversion job where they just created new holes to save time. Out with the old firewall Fire in a hole! Fitting the new LHD firewall Let's weld it up! Like it came from the factory! A few more welds... Firewall conversion done! Brake and clutch masters test mounted Perfect pedal positions Edited March 25, 2014 by mindless
