Mindless' Glanza Street Car build - DONE!!! (for now...)

Recommended Posts

@aaddzz123 I don't have better photos of the rails being converted other than this (it was kind of hard to take photos while the rails were being welded).

But essentially the main thing we did was strip off all of the reclining mechanism and then relocated the rear mounting points slightly (turns out Sparco mounting points weren't that far off) and re-spot welded them onto the rails.

This particular photo was for the driver side rails. We retained the seat height mechanism to be used as a "tilt" adjuster for the fixed bucket seat. Hope this helps! I'll try to see if I can get you better photos tomorrow.

Clever stuff mate. And much more cost efficient over buying a new rail... How low does the seat sit as the standard seats are pretty high... I want to do something similar but it depends how high it sits really. I may end up making a whole fixed mount if it's not particularly low.

Cheers mate :)

@aaddzz123 they do sit pretty high because i didnt modify the brackets that bolt on the floor. But it works with these particular sparco seats that I bought because seat sinks pretty deep so I guess they cancel themselves out. Also I like seeing a bit of the bonnet to use as reference when cornering. So i guess you can make it lower if you want but it also depends on the seat of your choice.

I love build to bits so fresh and nice to see someone treating a car to so much love :)

One question though ......... All that work yet you have stuck with a standard engine set up, any reasons for this ?

James

I already have a full blown EP82 race car. I don't feel the need so much for a powerful street car so I opted to go the opposite route - 1 bar ct9 + oem intercooler + emanage

Actually I have a friend who bought a glanza race car tuned from japan with the exact same setup (including the OEM intercooler) running at 1 bar with an emanage blue. And its putting to shame b18 civics. This was sort of the inspiration for my engine mod route...

Plus this isn't a racecar but will be more of alternate street car to share daily driving duties with my EK9

Apologies for the lack of updates... I've been caught up with real life issues like moving to a new place among other things. That said, a lot has happened to the car from last time :) Let me just give you the major highlights.

We've continued fitting the rest of the interior trim:

Any pics of the tuned glanza from Japan? This build is amazing so much care and bringing back the oem bay look love it :)

Apologies for the lack of updates, but between getting the build done, selling of my EK9 and buying an R34 Skyline I had too much going on to focus on documenting the rest of the build.

That said, the good news is that – SHE'S FINALLY DONE!!!
