aaddzz123 Posted September 18, 2014 Share Posted September 18, 2014 @aaddzz123 I don't have better photos of the rails being converted other than this (it was kind of hard to take photos while the rails were being welded). But essentially the main thing we did was strip off all of the reclining mechanism and then relocated the rear mounting points slightly (turns out Sparco mounting points weren't that far off) and re-spot welded them onto the rails. This particular photo was for the driver side rails. We retained the seat height mechanism to be used as a "tilt" adjuster for the fixed bucket seat. Hope this helps! I'll try to see if I can get you better photos tomorrow. Clever stuff mate. And much more cost efficient over buying a new rail... How low does the seat sit as the standard seats are pretty high... I want to do something similar but it depends how high it sits really. I may end up making a whole fixed mount if it's not particularly low.Cheers mate Quote Link to post Share on other sites

But it works with these particular sparco seats that I bought because seat sinks pretty deep so I guess they cancel themselves out. Also I like seeing a bit of the bonnet to use as reference when cornering. So i guess you can make it lower if you want but it also depends on the seat of your choice. Reusing the original plastic seat trims to cover the gutted/converted rails. Also we finally got the refreshed engine back! New clutch going into the refreshed tranny! We also got around to painting the roofliner black with some VHT vinyl paint ...and installing it Finally started painting the converted dash too! Recreating the texture where we had to use body filler to smooth out the joins during conversion Also started prepping the other dash bits for paint Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Transmission, fuel rail and a other small bits cleaned and painted Replaced the old worm gear clamps with T-Bolt for the brand new OEM intercooler. The rest of the dash panels painted We've decided to two-tone the rest of the rear interior panels. Getting ready to mount the engine. Transmission mated! Here we go! TADA! Engine in! With the axles in place we did for a quick test fit with the TE37V's just to see how it looks. Needs Needs to be lowered a bit more but that can wait. Other than that the wheels fit perfectly! Test fitted the gold tape wrapped OEM intercooler to see if the T-Bolts will cause any clearance issues Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I don't feel the need so much for a powerful street car so I opted to go the opposite route - 1 bar ct9 + oem intercooler + emanage Actually I have a friend who bought a glanza race car tuned from japan with the exact same setup (including the OEM intercooler) running at 1 bar with an emanage blue. And its putting to shame b18 civics. This was sort of the inspiration for my engine mod route... That said, a lot has happened to the car from last time Let me just give you the major highlights. We've continued fitting the rest of the interior trim: The whole harness has been cleaned up converted from RHD to LHD and tested Started wiring everything up: Check out those fat ass cables that will relocate the battery to the boot That's all for now.
