cool I found the link for the polo coilovers

how would I go about trimming the bottom of the rears.

look forward to see the full updated guide so I can show my mechinic mates to get this done

i pasted the cheap link in post 102 mathew

you cut 9mm of each side strait of then you cut 4mm extra of the outer shell and do not cut the steel bush in the center

so the outer of the bush wont rub of the axel

depends how you fit the tops theres 2 ways of doing it :)

on the polo 1s now everythin just bilted right on no cutting on the topmount of the rear then fit the large washer as you do on a starlet shock then 3 small washers ontop of that for the thread

cant wait for now so fitted them temporary with the old oem topmounts they fit strait on to these aswel so happy days

just put it right ontop of the cup like that but you need to use the starlet topmount nut to get this to work the polo nuts are waaay to big

bollox bollox bollox i have an issue on the back coils !!!!!! the flipping bushes are coming out on the bottom of the coils

what am i going to do now ???? not really happy :( :(

will get some pics in the morning

if i use washer they wil rub on the axel and couse more problems !!!! going to fit the stock 1s back for now tomorow and rethink maybie weld on starlet bushes

i got a skyline to sort out first tho she aint starting anymore

stock shocks and lowering springs are way worse in handling then these cheap polos !!!! ride quality is good for on the irish back roads mate much better then stock for sure !!

also i didnt have this problem on my previous TA TEcHNICS set !

can you get a close pic of the bottom pic ?? i never seen REAL coils like that only the budget stuff polo/golf

also waiting for pics of dangees rear coils going to buy them

but still want to resolve this isseu for my fellow member in the future !!

I haven't got a better picture as there fitted now but a bar like this threw the bush/bearing is what's needed it stops it collapsing

Just measure the center of the bush and find a pole the size needed and cut it to fit the bush and the width of the mounting point
