dangarbutt Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 After peoples thoughts / opinions/advice on antilag on a starlet running td04 , yes it will fuck the turbo n manifold all the time ,,,,,, anyone got anything else against the idea? Quote
akyakapotter Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 If you wanna do it do it I say just be prepared to replace stuff alot lol Quote
dangarbutt Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 Got aload of tdo4s has it been done before , ive a vf23 or tdo4s just love antilag ! Quote
akyakapotter Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Not sure the engine will like it. dont think anti lag has been done launch control has alot lol Quote
_shaun_ Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Spuddys runs anti lagg on his. Think its the cost that's the killer for proper AL you'll want a full standalone Quote
Bussey Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Pretty sure anti lags illegal on the roads, plus I don't see why you would want it unless your doing rally cross or something? If you want it just for the pops and bangs on the overrun I'm sure that could be mapped in though Quote
dangarbutt Posted August 4, 2014 Author Posted August 4, 2014 Antilags illegal mate the coppers round my way cant tell if a tyers inflated or not its paradise round here! think i Wont do it maybe one day i just wanted to know what people Were thinking about it or of anyone Had done it and someone has so im going to do some perving on his car Quote
AdamB Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Has been done a few times, although the cost outlay of replacing parts for some noise isn't justifiable in most peoples eyes. You'll go through turbo's and valve seats like there's no tomorrow. So unless the motor is one which is regularly inspected I wouldn't bother. Quote
Stu Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I've run antilag on my car - didn't have any issues to speak of and when the turbo setup came off everything was fine. Depends on how aggressively its tuned and how long you run it for. Obviously long periods will crank up the heat but a good manifold should handle it fine. Usually there's a rpm and timing delay for antilag that switches it off if its not actively being used - depends on the ecu thou Quote
H_D Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 the bottom end will need some serious work to run it safely too.Its worth looking into a billet main caps and a custom made crank gurdle if your thinking of getting anti lag. Quote
Mad Mike EP82 Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Anti lag on td04 is the silliest thing I've seen yet 😄😄😄😄 Quote
dangarbutt Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 Wont be doing this , Glad i got some info/ opinions ta dont give 2 fucks how silly it is antilags awsome regardless what its on it could be on my toaster it would still be fuking brilliant Quote
Phil Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 competition use, drag/sprints/hillclimb etc yeah no bother. road car - pointless, bar the noise. Phil Quote
daniel_g Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 If you want it for the noise then getting a Bee*R rev limiter might be an option ? (If you like killing bottom ends ) Quote
TurboTobz Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 If you got lag problems I feel bad for you son...I got 99 problems but lag aint one... (N/A) Quote
