And which oil would you recommend mate? Bret.
akyakapotter
That would be the one best to pop into local motor factors and pick oil filter up. oil im not sure on people use titan race pro but I've never put expensive stuff in as it's changed so often. I use acdelco get it from my local motor factors very fairly priced.
glanzadude
Castrol magnetic is the best for me anyways
mikey4410
akyakapotter is bang on.I always by me oil filtee from local place as I get them for like 3 quid trade, then I buy my mobil oil 5/40 online.
BJShipley
I always thought it was 10w40 Semi-synthetic as that's what i've been putting in my car. But If I'm doing an oil change is 5w40 fully synthetic the better choice? And Mobil/Castrol Magnetic are the two best choices? Bret.
Ollieh17
Alot of places say you shouldn't use fully synthetic on a older car. I just go for 10/40 semi
Flaminsam
I've always used 10w40 in mine. Slightly thicker when cold but who kicks their cars head in when cold any way? Most oil filter brands are the same inside. Mann, blueprint, bosch they all do the same job.
mikey4410
yes 5w/40w is alot better for a car when cold as its offers better protection.its not anything to do with not ragging a cold car, its general cold start protection.
BJShipley
Never had any problems with the 10w40 I've been putting in Comma Eurolite Semi-synthetic motor oil cost £27 for 5 liters. What oil brand would you recommend I'd rather put some decent stuff in than crap :') Bret.
maddox710
Millers nano drive oil and Toyota filter
5e colin
i uses the cheapest possible oil i can get hold of ( 10/40) and filter why spend so much extra when it has to come out after 3,100 miles anyways

Calum122
You say that but the experts seem to disagree. Regardless of how often you change your oil, it's always going to be better to run a higher quality oil for long periods of time, rather than a lower grade oil for any time at all. But by lower grade I'm talking Morrisons own oil or Car Lube or something similar. For some of you, like Colin, a rebuild might just be one of those things and is second nature. But I'd prefer not to rebuild the engine at this stage. I've been using Magnetec but I think I'm going to bung that on, use Silkolene like I do on my bikes. But from what I hear, 6 or 1 they're all the same.
maddox710
I spent £65 just on oil rather get the best. Dynos have proven oil can make a difference
BJShipley
Think that's a good bet ^ 5w40 you use mate or the 10w50?"5W40 - Competition Fully Synthetic Triple Ester Nano Technology formulation. Suitable for fast road/street modified engines, race, rally, sprints and hill climbs. Ideal for engines with hydraulic tappets e.g. Ford Zetec. 10W50 - For race and rally engines, and especially suited to modified, high performance vehicles with or without turbochargers, for fast road/street modified engines and track day use. A performance alternative where the manufacturer specifies a 10w40."Looks like decent stuff with proven results! £52.03 on Demon Tweeks atm too Bret. morgey
Millers nano drive oil and Toyota filterThis is what i use.If i remember correctly Synthetic oils have a better film strength than non synthetics and cling to surfaces better as well so your cold starting is much safer. AdamB
Millers again for me. Go for the best oil you can afford is my advice. Some people like above don't like spending £50-£60+ on oil that ends up drained after a small amount of useage, however oil manufacturers spend millions, probably billions of £££ in R&D to give your engine less friction, more power, better lubrication, better fuel economy, better cooling properties blah blah the list goes on and on. Mobil, Castrol Edge, Fuchs, Millers in that order
Flaminsam
Hmm we use barrels of Fuchs oils at work........... Interesting 😀
