  1. i recently bought a 1995 jap import wrx with a few minor mods on it. short story, it used a phenominal amount of fuel and broke lol. id get a non turbo for a far more reliable 4wd run about, and under seal the hell out of it lol.
  2. for a lazy daily id get the prelude over an integra, they were supposed to be the luxury coupe whereas the integra was meant to be the sporty coupe. personally id suggest considering a non turbo impreza or mk2 mr2, both are pretty bombproof, the former being a great winter car and the latter just cooler and amazingly good on fuel. .

  4. these are a great buy for the savvy, take em to someone who knows what theyre doing with metal and they could have that slight buckle out easy. if i lived closer id come and get em myself!
  5. ah! dont suppose my mines ecu could run it with a little fpr intervention and whatnot? though i suppose with such a custom build needing a custom map to run it all seems kinda inevitable. if the dudes happy to get a few questions via email from me sometime that'd be great! id rather have his answers written down so i can refer to them again if needed, I'm a forgetful bugger at the best of times lol. i would rather run the diverter valve off the turbo like a wastegate, just turn the supercharger off and bypass it once whatever boost i set it to is achieved. i prefer to be able to adjust it

Oh i see! does he run a custom ecu to have that feature? that doesnt look like the sc12 i mentioned, i cant see whether its clutched either. im wondering whether the ecu could deal with a supercharger suddenly being turned off or on, i wouldn't want it to lean out or overfuel with all the effort made. id like to have a chat with that John chap, ive seen the red starlet on here before but never seen anyone take credit for it, just peeps saying they've seen it on basefook or whatever.

Hey all, ive been plotting out the idea for my compound charged hi comp 5e build while i machine away at the block, and have come to a problem i cant get my head round. the plan is to do everything i can to reinforce the engine and use a huge turbo like a td05 or bigger and a toyota sc12 supercharger, the latter being chosen as its pretty small, was used on the similar displacement 1.6 A series engines and uses the same magnetic clutch pully our a/c pumps use . when set up, i wanted to be able to turn the superchargers clutch on and off using the ac button on the dash for fuel economy when

  10. i bought a black import wrx recently and found it had a td05 in it, so i did a shitload of research. other than a few special editions that got a few different vf series tubbys, the biggest difference between the wrx and the sti is the ecu, which is like 30 quid on ebay and plugs straight in. oh and some stickers and badging, and a strut brace. if you want a mk1 turbo and arnt too fussed about getting a special edition, save yourself a pile of moolah and go down the wrx with bits added route lol.

  12. you've missed the point of some of the people on here a bit ali-legend. its not that anyone here is ok with whats happening, its that there's no easy way to deal with it, and perhaps what little money we have is better spent dealing with more easily solvable problems closer to home.
  13. i would try going from each gear into reverse, and see if it only does it with certain gears.

  16. im currently building a mean old 5e, i plan to fit it around this time next year. that was another thing, i would assume that a 6 speed transmission in the same sized gbox as the 5 speed would have much flimsier parts, id like to know what sort of power they can deal with before they strip teeth. that c160 box socks mentioned sounds perfect, doent some of them have helical lsds from standard too? would it require custom driveshafts? http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26728 found this, the insides of the 6 speed look almost identical.
  17. do you need a conversion plate, or does the bellhousing match up to most toyota engines or something? presumably custom shifter parts would need to be made as well.

Hey all, I completed quite a long journey today, but found my ears were bleeding from all the constant high revs of motorway travel lol. for a car labeled as being a gt (which I presume stands for grand touring) its not that pleasant to monster along in the fast lane for too long. I was considering finding a taller final drive from a different version of the same gbox, but i do like being able to shove it in 5th at thirty and burble around town, so i came to the conclusion that more gears were needed.
