  1. Ive got a subaru style 16g with a 90 degree on it if youre interested?
  2. so i got the engine out of this, and pulled the pistons to find most of the rings were jammed up. ah i thought, theres our problem, but naturally while they were out i got in there and checked the bores for roundness. its not just that theyve gone oval, its that theyve gone all over the place in quite spectacular fashion. 8thou out in places, each cylinder different :L fuck the 2zz, i cant be asked to repair it or replace it, im going to sell a few things off it to recover what i can and move on. anyone fancy a set of t sport alloys?
  3. Bumped into someone on here while rolling in my saab griefer mobile, nice clean car take a bow!
  4. Calling any paseo owners, can someone slap a tap measute across their sunroof and give me a couple of dimensions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  5. I could do, im a plater by trade so it doesnt scare me, but i had a go in an mr2 the other day and they have a removable manual job that takes up nearly no extra room at all so i was wondering how involved fitting the clips etc would be. Im already going to have to take the whole headlining out and remove the rails the stock job slides on.
  6. So ive been musing about my starlet project, ive fitted impreza seats to the interior and they sit roughly where the stock jobs do,(very comfy and cheap by the way, would recommend) perhaps lower as theyre hight adjustable, but alas as mine is a sunrood model my head hits the roof :/. Ive been considering the possibility of converting my sunroof to a much slimmer manualy operated job from an mr2 etc, or perhaps even a removable one. Has anyone attempted or done any research on this? What do peeps think?
  7. Pretty much confirmed cracked toyosport lol. Who delocks doors too
  8. That makes you my new fav customer lol, ill drop u a pm!
  9. Its a pretty straightforward job, that will probably turn into a more time consuming job as you go and the while its apart opportunities appear lol. Its best to just pull the engine and gearbox as one, do the swap out of the car, refreshing gaskets here and there as you go. Makes drilling a hole for the clutch master cylinder etc easy, and whe youre done you can be sure you wont have to pull it back apart for a while! Ive literally just finished doing my own conversion, feel free to message me if you get stuck!
  10. Lovely gt mate, always love to see a gt running. Just wondering mate, if your friend does do the quaddie conversion id love to buy the squarelights from ya!
  11. My green gt project will be for sale when it comes back from bodywork cleanup! 92, around 50k miles on the clock
  12. Bump! (If a mod fancys clearing up all the excess posts on this thread, id be grateful!)
  13. Im sticking a td05 16g on a 5e, planning to run an emu. Anyone had experience with that setup?
  14. The head was rebuilt and pressure tested. Bores usually give the game away with rings and its timing chain is deff correct, wouldnt give a difference between 3 pistons and the 4th anyway. Im tempted to butcher it, central locking, complete engine for a mad build someday, 6 speed gbox with driveshaft cups etc.
  15. Im confused as to why its so low, the bores didnt seem that bad, no gouges from ringland failure or anything. Im torn now, i could pull it to bits for parts or try and find a replacement shortblock or whole engine.
  16. So i got the head back on, new gaskets, bolts etc and gave it a comp test. 150 150 150 180 Game over lol.
  17. I was in gosport sunday, saw a white glanza bombing through. Always spotting starlets about, never hear from any of them on here lol.
  18. Might need a short block tbh. If it doesnt work ill probs pull the engine and box and bin the rest off lol
  19. Ooh, got any intake cams and or rocker pads that arnt curly whirlied? Got set of springs?
  20. I want this badly lol, id px for my minty green one or a phat saab with only a small amount of head gasket failure lol
  21. Only when using the hot cam tho eh, when i say later i mean if the engine runs well when i throw it back together and doesnt burn oil. Ill be looking for some at the scrappys im not paying the 300 odd toyota want lol
  22. Got my cylinderhead back from the shop, refreshed the valves and gave it a big old skim to try and get the compression up as well as seat the mls headgaskets these use, so shiney, so chrome . This happens to most 2zzs it seems, the hot cams and pads on the intake camshaft get smashed on the back of the lobes, im not going to do anything just yet, ill fix it later if the car is a success. toyota wanted mad dollahs to replace em, fuk dat noise for a car im intending to drive hard till it dies again lol.
  23. Plough through, the heartache moments and skuffed knuckles are all worth it!
  24. Just soak it to death in some degreaser and pressure wash
