  8. Hi guys, bought a 4EFTE the other day but turns out it's no good. My original plan was to use the FTE rods, Pistons and head in the 4E block and the 4E crank. Now there's a good possibility I'll have a job in September and was thinking of forging it. My question is would the 4E block and crank take it ? I read somewhere that after 1998(which mine is) the FTE and FE blocks and cranks were the same ? I'm also aware of all other costs like turbo, mapping, machine work ect.
  9. Good project pal ! I think wildlife in general aren't loving it seeing as they want to head-butt your car whenever they see it.....
  10. Got loads done today. Started off by looking for gunk. Except no where had it so I settled for some stuff with a funny name........ Cleaned the head&cams and painted the head silver along with the inlet mani. And yes, I marked my lifters for those of you wondering Whilst all this was happening I was soaking my Pistons and rods in diesel. After 4 hrs I took them out, degreased them and this is how they came out. Next I pulled everything left on the block off and removed the crank caps. Main bearings Weren't too bad but rod #3 took a nice shaving off the crank Lastly, does this fl
  11. I wouldn't even know what one of them is haha. Soaked them in diesel for 4hrs, boiling water sprayed from the compressor and some degreaser came out like this.
  12. Was thinking of putting boiling water in a compressor wash gun ? Probably do the same job if I keep at it
  13. Hmmm I'll have to try sneak them in, I'd be killed if I start washing diesely parts in the dishwasher . Got diesel today anyway I'll soak them in it and stick a picture up
  14. I'll try this first as it seems to be softer:)
  15. I was thinking of something like oven brite or something just wasn't sure if it would damage them in any way. Cheers pal
  16. I had a list of colours I had seen and found the paint codes over a few months. Takes ages
  17. Hi guys I'm looking for a way to clean my FTE rods & Pistons. I haven't tried anything yet as I don't want to damage them and don't want to waste money trying different chemicals. I've seen on YouTube the yanks have something called 'chemi-dip' which is a big tin of chemicals you let them soak in. Is there something similar available here or what's a good method ? Thanks in advance.
