  1. As stated 74.5 is the best bet and forged 4e rods, agood combo is the wiseco pistons and peuter rods. Belive dave does a package on them, id advise to go with the athena gaskets as they are also getting wicked reviews, they are the only hg with all the water ways open to aid cooling and im just about to order an athena myself as i run 75.5mm pistons and they are they only company to produce a gasket for all the different bore sizes
  2. Red bull, and my car actualy cant go a month without spending on somthing.
  3. cheers lads, ill not be hanging about, just all depends on how damaged the engine realy is
  4. good man sensible option tbh mate.
  5. im porting and polishing a spare tb atm for the V im sure you lads would see an even better gain if you do this befor you fit them just takes time and a dremmel
  6. cheers bud was gonna put a varis front and jam spoiler on but now iddy sells em they arnt so rare so not sure and yea the engine is a downer, forged engines arnt as indistructable as people think lol
  7. had my first V at 21 £1k fully comp, company called tet hamilton, a grey import specialist but only cover 21yrs+ tbh lads i think some of you are crazy to pay the premiums you do when reping an sr is so much cheaper than forking out 3-5k for a v then 1500+ for tft insurance, thats a huge loss if you crash or worse if some arse crashes into you and it goes 50/50 dont rush it lads you have plenty of time to build your no claims and insure a v for a fair price
  8. tradecarview.org mate used an importer called algys autos who sorted the collection from the seller and the shipping, hes a very helpful guy and i highly recomend them mate
  9. cheers dan well finaly had a spare hour or two so made a start had a few jobs canceled this week so im gonna crack on and see how it goes, head should be off befor the end of the week and will be sent for pressure testing and if its fooked (fingers crossed) then shouldnt be long before shes back if however the head is ok then it points towards the block being cracked and a long rebuild as it wont be coming back with the same setup if thats the case as if its a full rebuild then ill go all out. i miss it sooooooo much already. watch this space for an update in the next day or so
  10. thanks dude. well still trying to find time to take her apart atm, made a small start then it began to rain so gave up for the day all in all feeling a bit down about the V today.......................................................untill the courier turned up and put a smile on my face huge thanks to keith at zisco and dan507 for pointing keith my way. also may need some new rods soon as although theres nothing wrong with my cunnigham rods i may be having a change of direction, still not 100% sure yet though
  11. bad times my car has blown a hg due to a pressure build in the water system good possibility i wont be at fest with the beast if this is the case ill be in an mx5 will it be ok to use the stand pass still and park it somewhere in the back out of the way or would you rather i stay off the stand?
  12. more importantly and some what over looked is the fact that the went int recivership and as such wher liqudated meaning they no longer exist and as such dont trade any more so no matter what the opinion of toytuning you couldnt buy and or speak to them if you wanted simplessss
  13. fronts are indeed CUSCO and backs are also indeed TRD, as also stated you have a mix of two types of springs, due to not being a full set of coils and springs of either brand mabe £250ish for the set at a guess
  14. well been a while since i updated you guys and the latest is I've got a set of super doper uber rare cruise cams on the way!!! massive thanks to dan507 the legend who put me on to them the down side is i have a major water presure build up leading to.........yep a blown cruise hg!! well theres only one thing for it unfortunatly, the mrs has spent two days telling me to brake the car and get back what i can of the £000's spent and after much thought I've decided to strip the engine and rebuild it all following very careful inspection!!!! watch this space guys will be back and very evil
  15. well to start off sorry to socks for spamming his build thread, but the long and short is a disscution has started about runnin 1.2 bar on an oem spec ct9 and just how efficient or not that wil be also wether or not this will cause damage to the ct9. im of the opinion that un less its a hybrid spec'ed ct9 then over 1bar is not so effeicient and allthough the pull will be more than a bar the percentage increase in power is minimal and will damage the turbo in due course. any imput and opinions welcome, just thought was time to open a thread instead of talking in a build thread
  16. standard ct9's dont do well over a bar, fact! course theres more pull because theres more pressure through it but everything has a limit and can be pushed but only for a limited time. 1.2 will kill your turbo im afraid will just be a matter of how soon.
  17. Lmao @ ryan. Will start a new thread later about discussin the pros n cons. Sorry for spaming your build thread socks
  18. forged engines are a bit noisey when cold mate its common, mines covered 10k miles and is still noisey when she is first started from cold, nothing to worry about just foreged lumps for you
  19. dissagree slightly micky lol agree with the comment about heat and all that but if you want to run 1.2 just use a hybrid turbo, people have run 1.3 even 1.4! too many people jump in to td04 all your doing is producing the same power as a good hybrid set up with alot more lag hybrids ftw!! for anything under 230bhp
  20. lol was gonna say it wont last long at 1.2 anything over 1 is mostly hot air and way out of efficiency. you going to run the hybrid and see how that goes? enzo's gt specs are a bloody good tubby if not mate. i was shocked by the tourqe when i used to run one ;)
  21. glanza was only 133 standard so couldnt see an na only having 15hp less! and phil i thought glanza s was 100hp too
  22. lmao saw the first link and wondered what you all meant, just looked like a civic not a starlet but after gil's post it all makes sense, and they look wicked.............hmmmm
