-
cheers lads, i did give em a quick going over with very fine wet and dry but they have only covered 10k miles since they whent in so i dont want to go crazy and damage the coatings, it will burn off after a bit on a good map more to come soon, next is to test fit the cruise cams now and build the rest of the block back up
-
well got the block back from being decked and cleaned so rebuild began crank back in pistons back in ARP main bolts kit and rods all bolted up more to be done tomorrow,
-
I've had 135mph out of mine with plenty left to give but although it handeled fine it felt light as fook, tein ftw
-
Right should have the block back Monday, then will drop the head off for skim and shimming for the cruise cams also now have a bedroom full of bits for the rebuild, is gonna be a hectic week but adament its gonna be done for fest2 as its my first uksc meet ;)

lmao dont look like it dude ;D

was done by special engine advantages and was in the forged lump when i bought it off an old tgtt member its ni-tempered for the added strains of nos too so at a guess £200-300 easily id of thought, the engine cost him over 5k to have built by them around 3years ago. and your right its total porn lol my mate spent most of sunday stroking the crank haahaa

spot on makes total sense -
well just waiting to hear back on the condition of the block, fingers crossed. yesterdays efforts on the block and my super sexy knife edged, lightened balenced crank sorry bout the cack pics only had the phone on me
-
Lol, bit to pricey to squeeze into the budget engine is now stripped bare so off to the engineers to be pressure tested and if all is ok with it then it will be skimmed and chemicaly cleaned then will begin the rebuild if the block is fine then it was more than likly head lift, due to oem head studs and a cruise 1.2mm head gasket with only 75mm bore not 75.5 and oem head bolts not arp wich means i stripped it all for nothing but better to be safe than sorry lol
-
hehe ;)
-
thoese spats are sweet, damn you i need some in my life ill just nick yours and your toms bumper when you not looking lol coming along nice dan, is going to be the best S by miles ;)
-
course you can have a ride when shes done dude i.o.u big time for the cams, i spent forever trying to find them! if you could just track down a cruise front bumper for me ;) lol
-
well, had the head off and tested all is ok im told so the rest of the engine is now out too and going to be stripped bare, and sent for testing. the engineer said he thinks it may be slight head lift due to the 1.2mm hg and oem head bolts hope so as if the block is ok ill have it back soon if not then will take a while due to new block, bore out, new bearnings etc etc. on a plus ordered an oil cooler and filter relocation kit and full polybush kit to go with my polybushed lower arms if its off the road then im going all out before i bring it back aiming for 300+ and the handaling of a tra

no more than 130kg for what your sending bud 500kg is way ott a gt only wieghs like 860kg give or take
-
glad this is still on, is my first event with uksc and not tgtt im despratly trying to get the V on the road for this (dont hate me if i dont though lol)
-
any update matt? mines in bits too now? hows your s13 coming on? ollie's caged his mx5 now we need to get a meet together
-
lmao, wheres all this stage one crap come from? isnt thats just the cack people put in there piston heads adds to sell ragged gt's and glanza's? stage 1,2,3 used to refer to chips in ecu's till it got adapted to describe a level of tune that most people couldnt even classify, what is stage 1? if we are talking stage 1 @180 bhp then thats mani, dect, exhaust, airfilter, fmic, upped boost. thats a shit load of work to be classed as a 1st stage lol i fookin hate people using that expression for mods!!!!!!!! rant over sorry ;)
-
last post said i wont be hanging about but I've been worki like a dog so not realy as far as i had planned to be ;) heads off, gasket looks fine so its pointing to a defo cracked block or head head is off to be pressure tested tomorrow and the block will be stripped and follow on for testing also. how she stands now im realy want it done for fest but its just not going to happen
-
boring is where you have the block bores made bigger to fit a larger piston, honing is a cleaning process, you will need to send the bare block away to an engineering shop who will sort the block out and also have both the head and block skimmed two, all in all the engineering work should cost no more than £150 and is 100% recomended other wise it will come back and bite you in the arse by causing other issues further down the line. athena head gaskets rang from £89-£130 depending on thikness etc, what turbo set up you plan on running bud?
-
With a vf22 by the time you get on boost he may well be gone lol try a td05 16g or even the 18g will both push big power but spool alot quicker on a 5e
