  1. Lots of wd to sets of spaners. one to hold the bigger nut and one to undo the bolt then alot of force and swearing! Plus check the threads i cant remeber if it undoes the wrong way if ya get me. my v was the same as urs n was a wore to do!!
  2. Nice one dude. shes flying along now how soon do you think she will be done? Mines ages off due to our crap weather atm
  3. Not sure but i did 90quid in fuel from glasgow to southampton razzin it the whole way in mine when i bought it haha not bad when you consider its a short ratio box in the ep*5's some one buy this mikes a legend and the cars perfect for fun in the current state or perfect for a turbo'ed grip whore!!
  4. Depends if you where to drive it home or ship it over. You may need to look into if tax and duty would need to be added is a shame mike but a very clean bargin for some one.
  5. Ah dont get me wrong boys was 3yrs of day release then a yr building a portfolio of work samples and also the 2391 testing course lol so i dont mean go to college full time. what i mean is do a part time college course while you have a job on the side and go from there. But defo train through college not a "reskill" company. as for apprentiships good luck as alot of firms dont take them due to ressesion etc etc. i started as a sparkys mate doing shop refurb work but its not the most reliable as your self employed and untill you have a big network of contacts you can spend days weeks or months sat around searching for a job to get on even if you use agencies. We are talking 7yrs ago though lol. If it where me in your shoes phil stay in your job if you can, do a day release plumbing course. get your level two and then look for work as an adult trainee gas fitter and do your level 3 gas (you need to be working supervised to take the course) out of sparkys and plumbers the plumbers earn more, alot more lol yet electrics is harder due to testing/fualt finding etc. Any who back on track! Lol any more trades? Seems to be a fair few mechanics about. you lads not get fed up working on cars then coming home and working on a car?
  6. As a rough guide phill qulifing as a sparky cost me around 5-5.5k its not cheap if your over the age of free education. but that was over 4yrs. If your looking at tiling, plastering etc they are far cheaper but trades that are regulated by laws and guide lines are genrealy alot more expensive and take far longer to qualifiy in. it depends on the trade your thinkong off tbh. makes me wish id gone straight from school into it but i didnt start till i was around 20 (im 27 now)
  7. Yea all counts any skilled/trade/food/inspection or manual etc. got some skilled lads in this club tbh. @uberphill88 dont use skill trade companys they are genraly fround apon buy skilled lads in my experience. got back to college if you fancey retraining tbh. i know 40yr old guys at college retraining as sparkys and plumbers etc. is expensive but atleast you get the proper qualification. skill train companies will charge money for short express courses that mean people are less likely to tack you on Also forgot to add my bro deebo who comes to all the shows and is often on here reading up on my login is a qulified plumber and is currently lookin to do gas aswell.
  8. Just curious what tradesmen we have on the forum realy. Im a sparky and currently testing a massive comercial site but tend to work in both comercial and domestic sites testing and installing. Any one else? Domestic or commercial trades?
  9. Truley insane!! Cant wait to see graphs and strip times
  10. Aha makes more sense now lol.
  11. Seriously clean car mate. Dont sell up, just man up! Forge it, map it and enjoy 270-280 on the td04.
  12. My self non but few mates with small lizzards, cousin had a bearded dragon for a bit. one of my best mates has a corn snake and another mate had two boha's a 6ft male and an 8 1/2 foot female bloody huge they where!!!
  13. No worries dude ;) And rob twins with yellow stuffs on grooved discs will defo stop you very well no worries there. would stop you at td04 1.4 bar
  14. Tte looks much better than a v spoiler imo. Tidy looking starlet mate.
  15. Yep grant maybe able to confirm if its .5 for sure but either way it needs to fit snug to the hub as the centre bore is 60 iirc on the astra disc so it wont centre using that. you could have a small filler coller made to sit in the gap of the centre bore but tbh i never bothered. once the disc is turned its nice and centred anyhow. Ebc yellows are around 95 Gt or levin calipers are 60-160 Discs 50-130 depends how lucky you are sourcing the calipers and what sort of disc and pad you run tbh. could do it for under 200quid if you just want bigger standard style brakes and find good calipers at reasonable cost. the set i sold cazzac where mint levin ones i bought from yahoo auctions. never seen a set so mint!!!!
  16. Lol true. Its the astra set up you want rob and its the most direct you will get. spacers behind the disc are a tad dodgey imo. the astra setup means no spacers or arsing around with studs.
  17. The set up we are discussing does not reqire longer studs or a spacer plate to run just minor milling of the disc hub. the setup in the link is far more hassle imo. ill load pics to make this clearer if i get a chance. this is a much better disc choice an used also by gt phayer and cazzac. a 25x280 astra disc can also be used but the disc needs milling to 260 to work aswell as the bell housing milling mildly. astra discs are a much better setup.
  18. No spacer is needed. its a bit of the inner bell metal think its like .5mm so the bell pysical fits on the hub and yes astra. the centre bore is bigger than a starlets. the facct that the bell sits tight on the hub will centre the disk as apose to the centre bore centering it. an adaptor coller can be made for the centre bore if your that bothered but isnt realy needed as the snug fit prevents travel. Again no spacer is needed. both me Nd grant ran this set up for ages with no isses atal.
  19. Only needs enough ot the bell to make it sit tight over the hub as this helps centre the disk. just measure the hub and your away recomend ebc yellows on a stock or grooved disc. Stops very well. Forgot to add. levin ae111 twin pots need a small amount dremeling/grinding off the centre rib of the carrier where it sits to the hub. celica gt165 twin pots dont as the carrier is thinner from stock on that part.
  20. I run a port polished and port matched head, cruise valve springs, 265 billet cams and have a custom inlet and mr2 tb. i cant comment on the pp head and inlet as shes not up and running yet but the cams and springs where on the last head i ran on my v and cams made the car far lazier off boost and till 4.5k rpm they didnt seem to aid or restrict spool after that though the car pulled like fook!! All depends what you are trying to get out of the engine and at what point. people have rightly proven no real head work is required to run 350hp as above you can easily overspend and go to far for the setup and sure you could just add a bigger turbo and more boost but what good is 1.9bar and 450hp if its only between 6.5k rpm and redline???? Cams and head work are great on the right set up for the right situation not all of us need it and equal some would improve by using it.
  21. Looks bloody awesome!
