  1. What engines in that? That can't be an N series lol. Diesels are amazing. I used to hate diesel but once you drive one you realise they are completely different to petrol but can still be a lot of fun. Shitty little 1.5's aren't much good and non turbos are totally gutless. Tuned diesels can be a lot of fun though, bags of torque from 2k rpm and lots of smoke. If you do get a diesel Starlet make sure it's a turbo one, or you can source the extra bits from a turbo engine.   4. If you connect the wires up yes you'll hear sound from it but it will be shit, you really need an amp. And I'm sure I read somewhere that "under powering" a sub doesn't do it any good.

  7. Yeah it's completely pointless but in theory that's what you'd need to do to get near 100bhp (just copy the setup of the 1st gens). I once thought it would be good to tune a 4EFE but in reality they aren't really that great for N/A tuning, if you want to stay non turbo then get a 4AGE, the E series wasn't designed with performance in mind. Less than £100 gets you an inlet manifold and air filter, that's all I'd ever do on a 4EFE now. Save the rest for a turbo.

  9. Yeah Enzo had that mani on his EP80, bought from Joz. I was thinking about this the other day, and while it's totally pointless to spend upwards of a few hundred quid on a 4EFE, it "should" be possible to touch 100bhp easily on a 4EFE - the 1st gen (100ps) had a higher rev limit than our UK spec ones, and they make their peak power a lot higher up. So with a 4EFTE intake and throttle body, some sort of exhaust manifold, a higher rev limit and a remap (piggyback) UK spec engines "should" be at the same level. I don't know what the rev limit is on the Glanza S, anyone shed any light on that o
  10. From what I remember the OBX isn't the best of designs, the "Hotshot" 4-1 manifold was the only one that made good gains I thought.

  12. Too much boost on standard manifold and you can kiss goodbye to piston #3. I think that was it anyway, I've been away from the Starlet scene for a bit.
  13. The camber wont change on the rear at all. The only thing you will need to touch is the panhard rod.

  18. What other mods did you have? Injectors? Fuel pump? Clutch? I'm guessing it was the usual setup of manifold/decat/exhaust/intake/FMIC, all bolted on, (which inlet manifold did you use?) then 4EFTE injectors, with standard gearbox etc...? And although 0.5 bar doesn't sound like much I imagine it's "enough" because the 4EFE has a higher compression ratio. What was the rev limit? Did you do any head work? (4EFTE valve springs?) Standard 4EFE rad or was the cooling upgraded?
  19. Did a quick search and from what I can see, the 4EFTE manifold and TB are best for peak power, and the Corolla manifold best for all round, and the 4EFTE stuff isn't easy to fit compared to the good old Corolla manifold.
