  1. No lol you got the wrong end of the stick there mate, it was just meant in general, you always see people on forums saying I kept up with {insert car here} in my .... but it doesn't really mean anything without knowing the full spec of each car as well as both driver's ability. I was just stating that the Civic chassis is "better" than the Starlet but that's not to say Starlets are incapable of going round corners, mine certainly wasn't! At the end of the day though it's more down to personal preference, I loved my Starlet but comparing it to a Civic, both cars with uprated suspension but
  2. A standard Glanza is about on par with a standard B16 Civic up to around 75mph where the Civic will start to pull away. B series are good engines, D series slow unless boosted. You'll need to be running decent power to keep with a K swapped or B20 Civic. Basically if you've got money to spend on tuning then a Glanza has more potential in the long run, unless you put a turbo on the Civic. Handling wise Hondas are generally better, especially the Type R's, I don't care if you think you kept up with one on the track in your Starlet with some coilovers, that was down to the driver. The
  3. Is that a Glanza one or a UK spec one been painted red? Looks UK spec but just making sure.
  4. I'm after a complete wing mirror including the bracket and glass for a UK spec EP91. Price + delivery please Cheers
  5. 3rd gen Civic, and a very nice one at that, bonus that you've got a bird that likes that sort of car as well.
  6. Too much bullshit floating around about Hondas, does my head in lol.
  7. Some people's Toyota blinkers are stuck on lol. I used to be 100% with Toyota, wouldn't even consider any other make or model, if it didn't have that T badge on the bonnet I wasn't going near it! But I've since owned other cars (Japanese and British), and my Toyota blinkers have come off. I still wouldn't touch any piece of shit French car though.
  8. That 90 degree "bend" looks fucking awful lol.
  9. So you just book in advance, turn up on the day, have your fun round the track and go home, no need for anything extra? Do you change anything on the car before going out on track? How many times can you go on the track in a day? All tracks are at least an hour or two away from me so I'd want a good hour or two of track time (I know it's in 20 minute sessions so would want at least 2-3 maybe 4 sessions lol).
  10. If that's the case then I'd go for a GT. Going to the EG/B18C4 is a downgrade and I think I'd be disappointed if it were me, because you're going for a car that's "the same but worse" if you know what I mean, whereas a Starlet GT is a different car altogether. Not to mention it not being down as a 1.8 on the log book. And trust me you don't want to lose your license, you will have no hope of insuring anything good afterwards.
  11. Boost the DC2. If you can't insure the teg then how much cheaper is the EG or GT?
  12. Hence the pistons having those bits cut out.
  13. How much cheaper is a GT or EG? The best car out of those is the DC2, going from a DC2 to a swapped EG will only be disappointing I think, it's a big downgrade (depending on what mods the EG has). The Starlet has a lot of potential for future power upgrades but overall the DC2 is better "out of the box" if you know what I mean, with nothing done to it at all it's still quick and handles well etc...
  14. Nice GT mate I'm interested to hear more about these track days, how much on average does it cost, do you take spare tyres with you, is there space to keep your tools/spare tyres while you're on the track, do they have petrol pumps, etc...?
  15. No, it's to do with the shape of the pistons, they are cut out for where the valves go, but flat on the other side. Google "4EFTE pistons" and you'll see.
  16. I really like these, they need a well priced bolt-on turbo kit though. N/A 1.5 just isn't enough power. Also, why ITB if you're planning on supercharging later? I'd just save up and go straight for boost, ITB's will sound great but you wont gain much without other mods (i.e. cams).
  17. Not got a clue on sizes, been ages since I've owned a Toyota or Honda.
  18. I recognise your name from CivicLife I think I'd guess they fit, I once had some ET38 alloys on a Starlet, and they were fine. Spigot rings should sort out the centre bore shouldn't they? Fanblades would look quite good on a Starlet!
  19. I have no idea how much a standard 4EFE could take but you should be able to run a few psi without problems as there are people in other countries who have the Toyota Tercel which has a 5EFE, some of them bolt turbos onto those (some do the 4EFTE swap) but there are plenty of FE+CT9 setups around so they must be good enough for low boost. The only thing I'm unsure about with boosting an FE is that I don't think they have a knock sensor amongst other things but I might be wrong.
  20. You don't "need" to lower compression, you just run less boost. 5psi on a 4EFE is worth a lot more than 5psi on a 4EFTE. Many turbo Hondas only run a few psi because it's all they need.
  21. Yeah most of the ones I see are either good examples which they've spent every penny on and can't afford any mods or they're complete shit boxes, early models with huge mileage and cheap air filter and exhaust. Bet it's good fun on the track, the K20 really is a beast getting such good power figures without boost. Have you seen the one which is supposed to be 300bhp N/A? Vids of it are on youtube.
  22. Nice to actually see an EP3 being modified other than induction/exhaust. And good choice on the rear lights.
  23. Diesels are already good they wont ever rev like a petrol but there are plenty of high powered ones about. Old Merc 3.0's chuck out 400+ bhp with a bit of fiddling and a bigger turbo. 99% of diesels now are using VNT's though, makes them feel a lot more pokey, no lag but not restricted at the top end of the revs. (Google variable nozzle turbines or variable geometry turbines for those who haven't seen them). The problem with modern diesels is the fucking emission regulations with DPF filters and all that bullshit. But they're easy to tune for good power gains, and diesels aren't fussy when
