The difference is in the quality, a Jam manifold is cast which makes it strong, as compared to a tubular stainless or mild steel one. Of course the standard one is cast but you're removing material. You can't compare a ported standard manifold to the Jam manifold, it's not the same at all. You ARE weakening it by removing material. But then take into consideration the years of heat cycles the standard manifold has been through whereas the Jam ones are a lot newer. There's no argueing the fact that a ported standard manifold is a good mod on a budget and even if it breaks it's cheap enough to

Remember a C1 is basically a Toyota Aygo. BHP per tonne and BHP figures are somewhat meaningless, like Rubix Cube said you have to think of other factors. It's easy to get caught up in big numbers and a lot of people seem to go in with their Starlet blinkers on and think they can beat anything. Starlets are great but they are certainly flawed. They can be great cars once you pour some money into them but as a standard car the handling and brakes are pathetic and the engines aren't really that strong once you compare them to some others. BUT they do have something about them which makes the

LOL when did this happen, or should I say, what happened?

LOL at getting a girls number through insurance. If you need a run around have a look at my Starlet.

Get the exhaust housing of your turbo done aswell.

It can be made to fit yes. For what you will spend trying to squeeze power out of the 5EFHE you could easily get a lot more from a 4EFTE. Also you could probably sell your 5EFHE engine and wiring loom to another N/A owner who can't afford to go turbo but wants more power as it's definately a big improvement over the standard 4EFE. That will get you some money back and probably pay most of what it would cost to get a decent 4EFTE and loom.

I usually hate green and the perfect example is that Subaru I think they look fucking terrible, but they somehow really suit your car in that photoshop. Not really a fan of bronze though, I'm going to be boring and say I prefer white.

You'll be hard pushed to get even slightly near 200. 150 would be a more reasonable and achievable target (100bhp per liter). But to get that you're going to need to spend a bit, ITBs, a good exhaust system and manifold, head work, ECU, etc... 200 IS theoretically possible but that's with a silly high compression ratio amongst other things.

I dunno how you can live with an auto! I bet you regret selling off your Starlet bits now though, would have been easy to just swap everything over to the Glanza. -

Didn't answer me. Is it a manual or are you still loving the automatics? -

It was only a non turbo automatic though, so nothing special. -

Please tell me you finally bought something with a manual gearbox? That Glanza looks really nice, love the wheels. -
You have to see his side of it, you going out clubbing he's obviously concerned you're going to be with other lads or whatever, once a girls got enough alcohol in them they're anyone's game.

Ah fair enough. Yeah I surprised a few cars in my old Starlet.

Looks like a standard UK spec to me. Seems to be in good condition too, what's the mileage on it?

Edited after realising I'd wrote a fucking essay lol... No, the appearance or sound don't affect anything, it all depends on the driver.

Yeah I'd be up for that if you're ever down this way, my CRX is pretty much standard apart from intake/exhaust. CRX's weigh around 1050kg or there abouts, fully loaded with electric everything and air con, the only thing it misses is PAS. Works out roughly as 150bhp per tonne, the figures suggest they are very similar to a standard turbo Starlet in terms of 0-60 time but I think the CRX would have the edge at the top end. I think your N/A would be a good contender against a D16Z6 Civic.

It will be quicker than all of your previous cars. You've got the right idea, upgrade the suspension and brakes. All I had on my first Starlet engine wise was an induction kit and Corolla inlet manifold. Was very nippy, 40-60 in 2nd gear you could piss past any traffic with ease. They are great to drive, although the standard suspension is horrendously shit, once you've got some decent suspension and a rear anti roll bar and some strut braces they handle quite well. The brakes aren't up to much either. Would advise atleast getting some decent pads or something. But overall, they are good

No his is a turbo. Those Hyundai's aren't really very good though. Starlets are pretty nippy for what they are, quicker than most people's "first car".
