  1. MOT failed. But it's not all that bad, it only failed on a broken spring, so I'm going to just order some new springs tonight, bit of an annoyance and a waste as I was planning to get coilovers anyway but I can't afford them just yet. If I can get some springs ordered tonight with quick delivery I still have a very good chance of being on the road by the weekend.
  2. You can't get another wastegate - it's internal. Unless you have that one welded up and get an external one.
  3. It looks alright for a Golf. Shame they're slow and heavy.
  4. They look like standard bumpers with some nasty lips.
  5. This is now insured. MOT is booked for this week, being taxed as soon as it passes the MOT. I'll get some proper pics probably next weekend once it's all sorted and I've gave it a good clean & polish.
  6. I thought this was well known and old news?
  7. It's ITB not IBT... And people don't do it because to do it properly you'd have to move the radiator accross slightly, otherwise it would be simple. People talk about different lengths and diameters and think they know what's "best" but without any proper research/testing it doesn't mean anything. But either way it's only a 1.3 N/A, you aren't going to make any real differences whatever happens. Just get a good bit of aluminium pipe coming off the throttle body with a cone filter on the end and enjoy the sound. A heat shield and cold air feed might help but I didn't use either and it was f
  8. It's an automatic... that completely killed it for me, all that money on an automatic?
  9. Don't bother messing with it, buy a piggyback ECU (E-Manage Blue is the easiest option), and have everything done at the same time, get it mapped with the boost turned up a little, you wont have to worry about fuel cut or any other issues. You may need to change the injectors depending on how much boost you want to run. Bear in mind once you start going to higher power levels you will need to uprate other things like the clutch for example...
  10. I've always had a soft spot for these, drive quite nice too.
  11. Throw away the shit FCD/RRFPR and get some proper management, a piggyback like Emanage is what most people seem to go for. You could also turn the boost up a little.
  12. That's wierd lol, when I was 18 I was getting quotes for a GT for £2k and Glanzas were like £6k and other stupid prices. £780 is stupidly cheap, how do you get it so cheap? Is it because you're at university?
  13. I'd go for an EG but Honda insurance is on the expensive side, but anything with a B series would be pretty good. But I think your best option would be a Starlet GT, they're cheaper to insure and buy than a Glanza, pretty much the same car, and you aren't really losing out on anything (apart from the looks of a Glanza).
  14. You aren't really taking in any more air than the standard manifold, what you're doing is altering the flow characteristics, (or "harmonics" as already mentioned). The same as with a 4-1 exhaust manifold for example, you aren't getting rid of any extra exhaust gas, you're just freeing the restriction that comes with the standard manifold, which gives you power gains in certain areas of the rev range (usually up top for a good 4-1).
  15. They look fucking shit lol worse than a van, I don't care if it's Toyota or supposed to be cool, it looks like a fucking brick.
  16. I wrote a guide for this, it's in the how-to section.
  17. I'd say it's either Momo or Nardi. Seen a fair few Jap cars with wheels like these.
  18. What wires does it have? Red/black/orange/green?
  19. Hows it going mate not seen you on msn for a while, the cars looking good, especially the engine bay. I bet the 4EFTE is a world of difference compared to the 5EFHE, what's the future plans, 1 bar? Bigger turbo?
  20. You could just spend a few hundred making the Glanza interior nicer. Get some good seats, have everything retrimmed in whatever colour and material you want, get the dashboard flocked, etc... Depends how much you like your Glanza but by the sounds of it you want something bigger and more luxorious. Personally I'd go for a Lexus.
  21. They are slow as fuck, a non turbo Starlet would keep up with a 318, and ruin a 316. Even the 325's are slower than a standard Glanza. You're going to be spending a lot of money on engine swaps and a turbo to get decent performance unless you can find an M3 engine.
  22. Nice result, what mods have you done so far? Nasty dip in the mid range though, must make it feel "quicker" at the top end once the power drops off and picks up again. Strange how the torque drops off, picks back up, and then levels off.
  23. R.I.P. I know what you mean about it not sinking in yet, my great nan died in the early hours of yesterday morning and it feels like nothing has happened, not looking forward to the funeral though.
