  1. Steering wheel and wheel nuts have arrived, going to put the wheel nuts on next time I go up the garage, I also fitted the steering wheel the other day, obviously haven't had a chance to drive with it but oh my god what a difference! For a start you can actually see the speedo and rev gauge now, and it's got much more of a solid feeling and alot easier to turn. I'm planning on finishing off all the odd jobs this week, then as soon as I sell the Starlet I'll tax & insure this and finally get to drive it! I'll have to get the camera out and take pics of a few things, this topic is a bit li
  2. Did you buy that rear strut brace off Chanelle?
  3. True it's not as good as it was but then nothing is with today's laws/nanny states/political bullshit etc etc... I'm guessing the lad who made that video probably lives in some strict American state where they're bringing in some shitty regulations that cause problems for people who like cars. There are already a lot of places where you aren't allowed to do certain things.
  4. Bullshit if you ask me, car racing/culture has been around forever, and is still progressing.
  5. This is what you get for doing a burnout lol.
  6. I really wouldn't advise cutting springs. Aside from the jokes about it being a pikey job etc... it's a bit unsafe, what it's going to handle like is anyone's guess.
  7. Well done on getting it working, I'm guessing you are on the standard ECU aswell? One thing though, I don't know wether it's just the video but it looks like the silicone pipes are being "sucked in" when you rev the engine.
  8. It wasn't anything special but it was my first car, absolutely loved it and had some good fun in it, sadly some old twat wrote it off. I went on to buy another another one, and a CRX, but you can't replace that "first car" feeling. RIP!
  9. LOL, your mom sounds hot. "mmmm carburetor" Check the throttle body/idle control/etc... the throttle body might just need a good clean. On the other hand, it still doesn't sound like it's running on all four even though you've cleaned the plugs up, have you checked the rest of the ignition system?
  10. 5.5 sounds too small for 195 width tyres, they must have hung over the wheels a bit? (Which would explain the 6.5's feeling more planted, as the tyre walls aren't hanging over the wheel).
  11. I wouldn't post either if I saw that bulldog on there. As for the car... I'm not even going to start.
  12. It was a rubbish film, watched it online, waste of time to be honest. The plot had potential but it just turned out to be boring, you really can't compare it to Saw, there's nothing gorey about it it's just wierd.
  13. That's a shit excuse for any modification.
  14. I usually get good results when cleaning/polishing a car, however I don't spend loads on products (T-Cut, decent polish, and then Halfords special offers for everything else lol). And I'm still using the old fashioned tool known as a "sponge". What I'm after really is just some advise, what things I REALLY need to be buying, and anything I need to do differently. As an example, mine and my sisters Starlets were both needing a good go over so recently I've done both using the following products, in this order: - Hose the car down (or jetwash if I can be bothered to get it out). - Give the ca
  15. Hmm I guess I was very blunt there, of course there are different models of the TD04. But the way I see it TD04's are "old". There are much better turbo's available now, for street use I'd go for one of those TD12's over a normal TD04 any day of the week!
  16. The TD04 is a pretty shit turbo in comparison to others. It's just cheap and readily available. You're better off with something like a TD12 from Enzo, or a Blitz K24 (or K26 if you're chasing higher numbers).
  17. Backpressure is nonsense and a commonly misused word. Have a read of this article: http://www.motorsport-developments.co.uk/t...FAF251.tech.pdf
  18. The standard ignition setup with some decent plugs and leads, and good condition distributor cap/rotor arm is fine for most Starlets... Unless you're chasing silly power figures there isn't much need.
  19. An induction kit wont really do anything other than noise on a small engine. Also just because it's a huge filter doesn't mean it will gain you any power, (obviously bigger means more filtration area) but no matter what size filter or what size carb you have, your engine can still only suck in a certain amount of air. A carb that is too big wont do you any favours either.
  20. How much money are you going to have? Being such a small engine you aren't going to gain much without spending A LOT of money if you keep it N/A. A turbo would be the best option for any real power gains, but it's going to be expensive.
  21. Those engines are carbed aren't they? Stick some bike carbs on it. In theory, any turbo can fit any car, it's just down to money. The CT9 would suit the 2E quite well but it would cost alot to set up.
  22. Opinion? Freedom of speech? He only called it "disgusting" there's nothing offensive about that.
  23. Nah, I wish lol. Yeah I see what you meant. I have a feeling it's something stupid making it handle the way it does.
  24. Fuck that. Corner as fast as you dare, push the car right to it's limits. Thrash the shit out of it on the straights. That's how I drove my first Starlet, was so much fun. Calmed down in my second Starlet and thought yeah, been there, done that. I expect I'll do it all over again in the CRX though. Just have to be more careful in that.
  25. This is so fucking annoying, I don't have a job at the minute but I have always paid for my own things. I saved up from when I was 15/16 and then a few months before I turned 17 I had £1300, but to save up that amount I had to forget buying things like PS3s, clothes, games, going out, whatever, then before I was 17 I bought my first car which was a Starlet, some old prick wrote that off so I bought the CRX and garaged that because the insurance was too expensive, and then I bought another Starlet. Fair enough I've been on job seeker's allowance the past few months (which I fucking ha
