  1. highlighted the important bits
  2. Yeah I was giving it a good hammering before it overheated. I doubt it's from the breather, it's on the left hand side of the engine next to the cam belt cover, and oil has sprayed over the inside of the drivers side wing, behind the drivers side headlamp, and under the bonnet. It must have shot out with some force because it's trickled down the outside of the wing aswell. Now I've said that I've just had a wierd thought lol where the oil has sprayed is exactly where my old Starlet got damaged when some old twat wrote it off last year. I think it probably overheated and the useless temp gau
  3. That's what I thought, new radiator, top the oil up and away it goes. But what about the oil that's splattered all round the engine bay? If anyone can remember Idrees' old Glanza when that happened, it looks similar to that but not as bad.
  4. I think if I'd have replaced the rad instead of leaving it then it wouldn't of happened, but I haven't been able to because I've had no money. I hadn't even got money for a set of fucking spark plugs. :harhar: And no I didn't overfill the oil. Don't be silly.
  5. My radiator has been leaking for a while and I've been topping it up and the car has been ok, until tonight. There's now a bad leak, you pour water in the top and it just pisses out the front like a water pistol. And there's also some oil down the side of the block and a fair bit of oil splattered in the engine bay, a tiny bit has even leaked over the side of the wing, but I can't tell where it's coming from, I'm 99% sure it's the headgasket although might be the rocker cover but highly doubt that. The funny thing is it still runs fine - no knocking, I turned the engine off within seconds
  6. Love old Fords, hate the new ones though.
  7. Jet washers are great aslong as you use one that's not too powerful. The one your friend used was obviously not designed for washing cars.
  8. My springs are supposedly -40mm, I don't have the problem of rubbing on the back even though I'm on 195/50/15's, but then again the back isn't quite as low as the front. I sometimes get a bit of scrubbing on the front if cornering hard, I didn't ever get it when I had my old 45 profiles. Personally I'm not a fan of 50 profiles, 45's felt much better to drive with even though it made bumps feel a bit more crashy.
  9. No Toyota didn't ever make a 5EFTE, it's just a 5EFE that's been turbocharged. The same as when you hear people say 4AGTE for example, they didn't make that either.
  10. Is that a fucking "SiR DOHC" sticker I've just noticed on the back window?
  11. Looks fucking good, I like it. What width are they, in mm? What are they like to drive with compared to the Speedlines handling and acceleration wise?
  12. Get some more pics it looks good but can't really tell from that angle.
  13. Both cars are EP91 N/A's. My old Starlet's setup was: Toyo Proxes T1R 195/45/15 on the front, Proxes T1S 195/45/15 on the back KYB New SR Specials with TRD springs OEM front strut brace GReddy rear strut brace Power steering And my new Starlet: Toyo Proxes T1R 195/50/15 on the front, random shit 195/50/15 on the back KYB New SR Specials with TRD springs No power steering In both cars I've used 32-34 psi for the tyre pressures. And the difference is quite significant - putting aside the fact that the bushes are probably more worn on my new Starlet seeing as it's older and has more miles on
  14. "Things To Do In Wales" "girlfriend" "staying in a cabin type thing" "can't do anything crazy" sounds like a shit week tbh
  15. Both of my Starlets have done 60 in 2nd right at the limit, regardless of mods/road conditions/tyre size (195/45/15 and 195/50/15).
  16. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest, 4EFE's can take as much abuse as you want to give them. You can thrash the shit out of them all day long and they come back for more. You'd have to do something serious like run it with no oil to ruin one.
  17. I'm really liking this: Not fast or anything but supposedly decent for a first bike. Other than that I've been looking at the Yamaha TZR, Honda NSR, Aprilia RS and MX, Husqvarna SM, etc... but I doubt I'll get a bike at all to be honest. Still thinking about it though.
  18. What's the difference between them? Disc diameter? Pad size?
  19. @ Turner - I had over 120 down a hill, 115 on flat and then had to brake. @ LukeH - 1.6 BMW's are a slow as shit, Starlets will walk them all day long.
  20. There's nothing wrong with 92k miles you are worrying over nothing. My Starlet has done 106k miles and all that's wrong is the radiator leaks slightly and it could do with a good service but apart from that it drives fine. Just out of interest what happened to the gearbox?
  21. Just get another gearbox or another Starlet. 1.5 Civics are shit, and insurance is very expensive.
  22. Yesterday had my first go on a bike (Derbi Senda SM50), only went on it for like 10 minutes but now it's got me thinking maybe I want one... if I did get a bike it would have to be a 125, and Jap of course. I doubt I will because I can't afford it for a start, I know there are a few people who ride bikes on here, what's it like going from a car to a bike? I'm worried that if I do end up on one I'd be trying to run before I could walk, as I have no experience what-so-ever, whereas most people start from the age of 16 on a 50cc or whatever I haven't done that, and I'm pretty sure I'd end up as
  23. Jay those figures are good, very accurate infact really close to the sort of figures I got on erm... private roads.
