★ Project 赤い脈動 EP 九一 ★ 14/06/12 - Interior and Exterior Update! ★
ste91 replied to Jozinobi's topic in EP91 Progress Blogs
As others have said, good work as always. Someone seriously needs to do something with that EP82 though, the body looks like it's in good condition and it's a nice rare colour. Would be a shame to see it go to waste. -
I doubt it will go back on the road and I don't think he has the logbook for it. If I had somewhere to put it I'd have a go at restoring it myself but I've already got a Starlet and a CRX and no money.

I'm not getting one if that's what you were thinking. But there's one been sat at my uncles house for a fair few years, I think it's a 1972 Mini Minor, few bits of rust, paint is faded, engine condition unknown, and not sure what the subframe is like, it's been sat on grass for years so guessing it's rotted to shit. I'd just had a thought though - would it be worth breaking for spares? I doubt it's worth anything in it's current state, even if the subframe was ok it would still need alot of welding and a respray, let alone any engine/brake/suspension work. I could join a load of Mini for

If anyone used to play PC games back in the late 90's you'd have probably heard of this game - Death Rally. I had the demo version of it and it was quite good, you can now download the full version for free, it's an old game so the graphics aren't anything special and the gameplay is quite simple but addictive and it's easy to pick up and play. http://www.remedygames.com/games/deathrally Better than most shitty internet flash games.

I pay £15 a month to a friend of my mom's friend. It's only a small garage just about big enough to fit the car in but it does the job and it's only a 10 minute walk from my house.
-
I'll try that then. I'm smashing the fuck out of it with a hammer when I find out where it is.
-
Well there's an alarm thing under the bonnet but I doubt that's it? Might be worth disconnecting it and trying it?
-
That's what I thought, but there's nothing in the exhaust. It's annoying and embarrassing because I'm usually alright with cars but this is a fucking joke. I'd love to meet the twat who fitted it.
-
I haven't posted this in the technical section as I don't think it deserves to go in there. As some of you know I bought a new Starlet a couple of weeks ago, and one of the idiot previous owners has fitted a stupid turbo whistler thing to it, I'm told these usually go in the exhaust but there's nothing there. However the cigarette lighter has been taken out so I'm sort of guessing they have used that as a power source for some stupid electric thing that makes the noise. Anyone got any ideas as I'm hoping to get insured and start driving again some time this week but there's fucking no way

What Width Tyre Could You Get Away With On 13" Wheels?
ste91 replied to ste91's topic in Alignment & Alloys
This is now irrelevant, I bought some 15 inch alloys with tyres for £50. -
This is what I've done with mechanics - taught it myself by reading on the net and doing things on the car. For bodywork though I'd want something to practise on before I made a mess of my cars. Done college before, wouldn't do a full course again, waste of time, I was after just a short course on it if anyone's done one but it seems not.
-
Just drill some holes in the bottom of the air box. Job done. Or get a hole big enough for another air feed.
-
Has anyone here done a course on body work or just basic spray painting and body repair? I'm considering doing one next year or something but not a full time weekday thing, just a part time/night course to learn the basics. Would be nice to learn how to get rid of rust/dents/sanding/filling/painting/etc... rather than paying someone else to do it or bodging it.

I used to use a leather until it went shitty, now I use a cloth (a good one not just any old rag). Leaving it to dry naturally does you no favours, it leaves water marks. Something to do with minerals being in the water, then when the water evaporates away it leaves the minerals behind, hence the marks.

Wouldn't it be easier to just find someone breaking a GLS or something and nick the parts?
-
Personally I find PSI easier/clearer to read as it's a smaller unit and on Starlets were really only using small numbers.
-
Very nice. I have always loved these, and will have one with a big single turbo one day. What's it like to live with compared to a Starlet?
-
More than you can afford pal Ferrari.
-
That really is basic. You should colour code the bumpers and get some clear front indicator lenses. And turbo it. ;)
-
What colour was the smoke? I'm guessing you opened the throttle and it came out yes?
-
None, they've all died from mercury poisoning.
-
oops, I had coffee straight after without washing my hands

Yeah sorry I wasn't wearing my hard hat and high vis vest. It's fucking rediculous, a few years ago the biggest worry with breaking a bulb was cutting yourself on the glass, now they want you to evacuate the room, wtf?!
