The only "supercars" I really like are the Ferrari F40, Bugatti EB110, Jaguar XJ220, and maybe that new Ferrari FXX. Supercars don't interest me, I'd rather have these 5 cars and spend the remaining money on modifying them: MKIV Supra MR2 Turbo Celica GT-Four Starlet GT/Glanza AE86

Are they real sweets?

LMAO that is fucking quality. Who made it?

severe lack of nipples in here

What's the spool time like? I bet it sounds nice with the EWG.

Not a graphic designer myself but that was pretty funny.

I'm really liking the look of the GT2052 as an alternative to a hybrid or TD04, but one problem that stands out to me straight away is the position of it; If it was to be mounted in the standard position the compressor outlet would be facing backwards, if you were to clock it you'd have to mess around making an actuator bracket, so I'd assume the ideal solution would be to have a custom manifold and "top mount" the turbo, that way the compressor outlet would face forwards and make it easy for the intercooler piping.

Are they really that bad or is it just a case of being badly treated? Their website seems to bullshit themselves up about them being good but I don't really take a companys own words too seriously. And how expensive are they, I had a quick search only looked at one link but the prices seemed to be around the same as other turbos for the Starlet, unless it was just a bad site.

I've been looking on the Garrett website at their smaller sized turbos (as an alternative to the typical CT9 hybrid/TD04) and it makes me wonder why nobody is actually using them? First there's the GT2052 which is for 1.4 to 2 liter engines, and rated from a fairly standard looking 140bhp up to 225bhp, which is CT9 hybrid territory. Then the next one up is the GT2056, rated up to 260bhp, which seems slightly better than a TD04 setup. And then there's the GT2252, recommended for 1.7-2.2 liter engines and rated to 150-260 bhp, again competing with TD04 figures. Now I'm not too clued up on th

I always thought the 4EFTE had a thicker one than the 4EFE?

Well the actual process of building an engine doesn't look that hard aslong as you have the right tools, a bit of patience, and make sure you tighten everything up properly. I could be talking out my ass but it doesn't look half as hard as people make it sound. But I'd fucking cry if I spent a lot of time building an engine and forgot to tighten something up properly and it fucked up within 5 mins of starting it.

I've been doing alot of reading up on engine rebuilds lately and want to find out a few things. Set aside the fact that forged items are expensive and assuming you had some good condition second hand parts, for example, a 5E block/crank, 5EFHE rods, 4EFTE pistons. Would it be fine to just put it together? (Replacing all the bearings and things like that aswell). I'm confused about it slightly, how can you tell if it's going to work properly? Obviously you'd need to check the clearances but say if the block needed machining you'd need bigger pistons anyway so it rules out using standard 4EFT

I can't find anything on that engine, I've found the normal 3K engine but it's saying it's an 8 valve OHV? Whereas that has a DOHC head.

They really do look similar to some of the old Corollas (TE27)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoLi8NZJYu0...feature=related It looks cool and sounds amazing. Anyone got anymore info on them?

Sounds a crock of shit to me, one lady owner in Japan? Yeah right.

You can fit Glanza skirts with a little bit of modification.

Just make the text bigger on your browser mate. Or try pressing CTRL and +

It's more a case of preventing detonation than anything. As far as I know, they use higher octane fuel over in Japan, so their "regular" fuel is probably similar to our "super".

Been hearing about this for ages, shame it will probably be ruined by all sorts of electronic bullshit the same as all new cars.

I really can't see the filter having anything to do with it...

Has anyone had any problems with these manifolds cracking? I have tried searching on both here and TGTT but it seems either they are very good quality OR nobody wants to speak up about it but I have read one or two bad things so I'm not so sure. -
It's exactly the same apart from 4EFTE valve springs are slightly stronger. Unless you use a 5EFHE head which has different cams. Other than that it's pointless.
