Just found another possibility... Where my air filter is it looks like it has rubbed on a pipe and made a hole in it. So I think it might be a simple job of replacing the pipe and getting the air filter so it's not rubbing on it.

How can I tell if it's the master/slave cylinder or whatever?

I was pulling off from an island went to change gear, clutch pedal went all floppy (like it was stuck on), couldn't change gear. I think it's the cylinder thing as there's fluid pissed out everywhere... Sorry for the bad explination but hopefully someone has some idea of what I'm talking about - is this going to be expensive to fix?

The difference is the valve springs are stronger on the FTE (hence the higher rev limit). But yes you could port & polish the FE head and swap over the valve springs/cams and it should be fine.

It should atleast make it a bit quieter being inside a box rather than being out in the open.

Make a custom airbox with a good cold air feed that isn't restrictive at all. If you don't have ABS you could do it in the bottom corner at the front of the engine bay. Look at mc chu's Glanza and you'll see what I mean.

Nice, loving the non-faded red. Get some Reflet or late spec Glanza lights and it would look even better.

Looks good now, I usually hate the silver/black combo but this one actually looks quite good the bonnet sets it off.

Anyone else find it hilarious that these little engines can produce as much power as the well known "LS1" (5.7 V8)? Obviously doesn't have anywhere near the amount of torque, but when you put the figures on paper it's quite funny.

The piping is quite long and really it's no different to something like a K&N Apollo/Pipercross Viper/BMC CDA except the piping is smooth rather than that rough flexi stuff.

What size is the turbo inlet?

A GT turbo is a GT. Some people just think it's cool to add turbo onto the end of it... turbo innit? There are 3 different versions of it though, I always recognise them by the front end: Mark 1 has square headlights Mark 2 has square headlights but with a newer bumper Mark 3 has the same bumper as mark 2 but has 4x round headlights we call these "quadlamps" I find it the easiest way of recognising which model it is unless someone's done a quadlamp conversion on a mark 1 or 2.

Welcome to UKSC As for the engines, you will easily get 160+ and plenty of response from a 4EFTE with a CT9 turbo as they're so small and reach full boost very quickly and you can get 160bhp with a few basic bolt-ons.

I doubt you'll be getting any adrenaline rushes from a non turbo Starlet. It will most probably be faster than your Ibiza (depending on which model you have) but in a straight line you can't really feel the speed at all... I've only been driving mine properly for just over two weeks and I'm already bored of it when going in a straight line. Ok it's fun when you can keep up with 1.6's or whatever when you've only got a 1.3 but you don't really feel any sense of speed until you go round a corner.
