Rick's Nissan S15 Silvia Spec R Aero
Glanza_cl replied to StarletRick's topic in Other Motors Progress Blogs
Rick what series PE turbo is that, i had a look through and cant see what model it is. is it the PE1420? I was thinking about running the PE1919T on my mr2 as i want a nice responce but not silly power.... whats the drive and spool like on yours? -
tbh you probably wouldn't notice much between then, you stated what the differences are but on such a small litre car i don't think it would matter a great deal. if you are thinking of getting uprated cams, valve springs, and some mean head work and are going to increase the rev limit perhaps go with a 4-1. most would stick to 4-2-1. but i don't think there is that much in it personally. heat wrap wise along as the surface you are wrapping is totally clean of dirt, dust etc you shouldn't have problems. the stories you hear are from people that just slap it on with out any care or preparatio

6.6 to 60 in an almost stock auto? your having a giggle. stock the starlets are pants... get some nice little suspension mods, anti lift kit, etc and you might with around 160-70 stage 1/2 mods see a respectable 0-60 probs around the sub 7 seconds. if you think your getting that on a stock V or GT you clearly aren't timing it properly (and don't say your mate did it next to you on his phone ) as said with 215atw IF you could get it down you would get a pretty awesome time.

17's Yo! haha but i dont have a starlet anymore... so i didnt vote lol
-
niiiice! shame it's not a tubby... that would be insane! still super nice, what you got planned for this beauty?
-
it's not to bad but if pushed it does let go with intent to kill still i like hearing the turbo spooling by my ears lol anyway yes sorry Ross i'm just spamming your thread now haha
-
indeed... starlets are great when you have them, but i spent sooo much and didn't get very far. I looked around for a while at what to move onto next. ek9?... nah to slow, Silvia?...to scared of 'full rwd' loads of others but ended up with an mr2 still rwd but mid engine, so takes just a bit more before it bits your head off haha. there great cars, highly underestimated but are getting old now so like other 'high power cars' you need to look for a minta if you want it to last. scooby or evo are nice but are a tad chavy (well a scooby is) but are nice and fast.... even though my 2 will quite

another toyota... wouldnt happen to be an mr2? not the best time to brake but good luck none the less. sometimes it's good to step back... move on a bit, it's not hard to come back to these great little cars but there are many many different options out there

nah buddy thats real... cirque du soleil develop loads of crazy circus stuff. that's all 100% reel... just looks strange, you travel up half what you fall (roughly) so dependent on how much force they apply to the trampoline, that dictates how far up they travel (while slowing due to gravity) neat stuff in other words

Glanza.co.uk i.e. Mark is one of the main moderators over on tgtt. As Jag said Jules got his glanza off mark and it was minty mint!... i went down with a friend of mine to pick up a K24 V from him and he is a top bloke, really nice and easy to talk to, he knows his stuff so i'm sure any V he gets in for you will be perfect hope that helps buddy.
-
you need a boost module as well unless it's one of the newest versions of dastek. and a google search should find a close place to you that maps them ... i ain't got a clue
-
very nice, but the spot light on the last pic brings out the smudges and hand marks on the paint work... nothing a tad bit of photoshop couldn't sort though nice pics Rob, think if you had a orange filter or something along those lines it would look awesome, contrasting the blue/purple with some orange.

both a pile of shit mate, wouldn't touch them with a barge pole! can guarantee they will crack within either a couple of weeks or one/two months. check out the traders on here for ones that will not crack... yes they cost more but in the long run will save you having to buy twice and pay for labour or the hassle of changing it yourself a couple of times over.
-
looks a bit like one of Aidans on tgtt? not sure doesn't look like most i have seen though.
-
depends on the toyota, the one near me doesnt but others might.
-
haha yeah dude! ah the buddyclub on your old V sounded so good!! mine does sound propper mint! cant wait to hear what your custom ones going to sound like jules.
-
My mate had one on his V and it was immense!! he was running a ported mani, decat then the full buddy club... it sounded the tits, was dam loud though. it made a nice peak power but due to the straight through design it can make the torque quite low. i also have a buddy club spec2 on my mr2.... now thats were it should be!! 2.0L turbo + buddy club = absolute perfection
-
haha nice atempt buddy! take it you were dabbing the throttle to slide the front round with the back?
-
yeah tbh i'm quite glad i have a rev3, plus it all uprated on coilovers, droplinks, rear cross struts so it take a bit for it to go but when it does it's not the easyiest to get back again. it was so smooth as i found 2nd gear drifting much easyier, as with the lightened flywheel it can be a bit rev happy in 1st so second was the way forward.... if only drifting in general was that easy lol
