Chanelle's Glanza Rep Build Thread
StarletRick replied to chanelle1234's topic in EP91 Progress Blogs
na, looks shit yes? -
in my opinion, the arse has fallen out of the jdm market. its flooded with people trying to buy parts for a profit and its ruined it. back when we used to import stuff things were cheap and the world was beautiful. now its just gay. its why we stopped. the money we would have had to charge to get stuff to you would have been a joke. its stuff like that bidjdm.com that has ruined the jap car part market. nobody in japan buys the parts anymore. its all bought by outsiders shipping them out of country. the whole time the japs are laughing at us for spending TONS of money on shitty used parts

Questions About Engine Rebuilds
StarletRick replied to ste91's topic in Alternative Engine Discussions
engine building isnt hard but you have to be anal about it. you have to make sure everything is spotless, everything is triple checked for torque etc. the actual process is easy though, can have it done in a few hours (unless you have to reseat valves! they are a shit on a 4e head!) you just CANNOT get lazy with it, you have to make sure its all done properly. as for your 5e question. yes, 5e block, crank and rods with fte pistons work. if youre serious about doing it, send me a pm and ill give you a few tips, im the wins with 5e conversions -
wheels via surface are about 150 quid IIRC. but they take ages to get here. air shipping is going to cost you more than the wheels will. its the gay thing about shipping wheels.

im going to do them red. i think they will look pro red. white would also be good. but cleaning them would get boring after about once. -

it makes me upset that people change my glanza (it still is my glanza, and always will be ^^). i made it perfect. it doesnt need touching. it was, perfection. it was TC. -------------------------- on another note. actual pics of the brakes.... they are silly, im not even sure theyll fit under 17's. they need a tidy up and a paint. but they win. beer can for reference. -
get the bulbs from a mk1 GT. they are yellow.
-
if it isnt leaking anywhere, its going to be the wastegate. silly question... is the spring in it?

phil, you were such a fucking chav. worse than simon used to be. you pikey ^^
-
it isnt that its more stable. its that its reading it at atmospheric pressure. in reality, it makes hardly any difference if you take the pipe on or off. i just do it as a habit. as long as its reading 33 psi, you should be good to go.

Clutch Filling And Bleeding
StarletRick replied to adz_sportif_turbo's topic in Drivetrain & Transmission
bleeding is exactly the same as the brakes. the nipple is on the slave. its on the bell housing at the front of the engine. next to the oil pressure sensor. -
dont have to prime anything, just fill it up and proceed as normal. giving the calipers a good thump with a hammer helps once its full. helps get air bubbles moving.
-
stock pressure is 33psi with the vac line off. without touching the engine, i wouldnt run anymore than 0.8bar.
-
i had forgotten how fucking pretty those wheels are mate. i want them back plz.
-
i ran mine in on halfords mineral oil. and changed it every 200 miles. its about 2p a litre and works fine. dont waste money on good oil.
-
youll probably need the support brackets that bolt onto the slam panel. thats why they dont fit right ^^
