Make sure you use a DECENT company for the head skim too! Don't overheat your engine is the other main one. If you have a water leak, sort it out!

Its quite long now! You ruddy Perv! Been down there today myself... See below... Well.... Popped down to Race-Tech today. Ben had got the engine out of the old girl for a bit of fettling, so took the opportunity to blitz and polish the engine bay. It needed it bigtime! and all polished up White again! Engine bay paint is original too, so not too bad at all! Once the engine was out, Ricky gave the engine a once over. The sump was removed to make sure its all ok ready for pushing it over the 400bhp mark... Its in pretty much mint condition inside, all in very good condition! Which is brilliant! So the weeping crank seal was replaced, the engine block was cleaned up. (it will be re-painted before going back in too) Its going to get a fresh cambelt while its apart too, just for piece of mind! Then while the sump was off, they cleaned it all up, removed all the sealant (came up mint), I had the piss poor factory baffle removed... Anyone guess what's being done? ;) While I was there, my custom made clutch line arrived too... Will allow me to get rid of the hard pipe, flexi pipe and another hard pipe... Should look a lot better! Will be more updates soon hopefully! Ill keep you posted best I can.

I believe this person had the same issue with a non genuine release bearing... http://www.ukstarletowners.com/topic/67501-tuning-developments-bad-experience/ It seems redline & _shaun_ had the same issues as you with that particular clutch kit... I believe Toyota one will actually say TOYOTA on it somewhere... Ive been using my Genuine Toyota one now through 3 different clutch kits and several power outputs. Never had an issue!

If your old one isn't fucked and is genuine Toyota... Of course you can, its what id recommend...

Seen this sooo many times now... I wouldn't use ANY other release bearing bar one that says Toyota on it... There all shite! Even if you re-use and re-grease an old Toyota one its better then the new shite that comes with aftermarket clutchs these days...

That's cheap... I have both cars. A Glanza & a EP3 Type R.. I'd choose the Glanza over a EP3 Type R any day of the week. It sounds like you know what you want to do already tbh, once starlets are in the blood, you cant get rid!

You can get 400bhp out of a 4efte.... The only way you'd need to go 3sgte is if you wanted even more power then that. The engine is also VERY heavy when compared to a 4efte... So handling wise. Youd need to be good at setting up the suspension!

Get a boost gauge asap... These sort of issues are instantly recognisable! Its defo a must imo! Engine Management Light flashing up and a misfire. Could well be fuel cut!
