The length of the rod can be measured. but different elements of the setup... Decats, size of the exhaust, interooler size, filter/intake system. etc All effect the boost level! So length is a bad way of doing it imho! Fit it so its just tensioned enough to keep the flap shut... Then shorten the rod bit by bit to reach the boost level you want!
-
WIth any adjustable actuator... You want the wastegate arm to JUST be tensioned... So just enough to keep it shut... Then do some pulls in 3rd and 4th gear see what boost level your at. Then shorten the rod 1 turn at a time to get to your desired boost level!

http://s314kba.co.uk/leaderboard/ The most powerful CT9 Turbocharger based result on the leaderboard! Well done Marc!
-
Engine is going in unopened in stock trim first... Ill build an engine eventually. We can play with lift points and such when being tuned... The major problem imo owning a TS daily. Is the gear ratios don't suit the power band (lifted area). Compared to an ep3... The ep3 is much easier to keep in the lift zone! See how the MR2 gear ratios fair!

Looks awesome! Get your result on the leaderboard! Looks like the boost pressure is stale! Something ct9s usually suffer with... creep. etc

When I picked them up lol Its a very accurate measurement lol Trust me! Na in all seriousness. I did some forum digging and got the weights... There wasn't much in it but the 2zz was lighter... Especially when you remove all the shit from the 4e-fte and 2zz-ge that wasn't needed. PAS Pump, AC Pump, Secondary Air Induction Loop System. etc Yes same engine that comes out the Celica & Corolla T Sport and the Lotus Elise/Exige
-
Waiting on my turbo to arrive from USA at the moment to start fabrication on the turbo kit The 2zz-ge is lighter then a 4efte. Mainly because the 2zzge is an alloy block with cast iron liners. The 4efte is a complete cast iron bottom end. The E153 MR2 gearbox is heavier then the C52 though. The setup is very similar in total weight. Certainly nothing that can not be countered with a decent setup. If i'd have used a 3s-gte engine. Then it would have been VERY heavy at the front!

Ricky @ Race-Tech can supply this stuff!

I know of 3 people that have had serious problems with zisco seals not sealing they have sold lots though! Toyota ones are the best imo...
-
just a heads up Mikey... TD04 kits are all different The manifolds angle the turbos in different positions... So you will need the downpipe specific to your kit to get it to connect up ok!
-
3rd does seem a bit shortewr... May just have a decent amount of power... SO getting thru them quick!
-
Wasn't aware you offered the Godzilla kit with any other turbos.... But yeh GT28 based turbos is as big as people should go on a 4e imo
-
The bigger the intercooler core. The colder the air. The more power you get. Combined with the shortest pipe route... The HDI kit is the best on the market without going custom imo!

http://www.s314kba.co.uk/leaderboard/ Results No. 12, 24, 30 Billet TD04 Hybrid will see you over 300bhp on stock cams...
-
300+ Doesn't Require Cams and can be done with a hybrid TD04.... Asking on a public forum will give you many more different and varied opinions, from many different traders and members. If you ask Ricky or Sacha. They will tell you, you need there own kit Who Wouldn't...

The WEPR Godzilla uses a GT3076R and it is a lag monster on our engines. Unless you have an engine capable of revving to 9000rpm+, Cams, Built Head and Standalone... A decent GT28 setup from WEPR, Race-Tech or RW-D Im sure will make 400bhp+ on 4e or 5e if done properly... Save yourself 1500-2100rpms of no performance.... You only have 1300cc to play with! Its no 2 litre!

Have u got an anti lift kit? Can help stop the front end diving up under hard acceleration?
-
There a 16v engine.. So yes there will be 8 inlet and 8 exhaust

is there anyway of finding out what build number my sr is?
Socks replied to drongo boi's topic in MOT & Maintenance
It will be on the chassis number on the plaque under the bonnet.. Thing is were all the SR's plated up in order... Or did lots of UK starlets come off the production line and only so many fitted with SR parts.... Start posting up chassis numbers guys? -
Tracking and Alignment will help... but you cant get over the laws! A lightweight fwd car, with high power and torque is going to torque steer. Modern cars have all sorts of fancy electronic controlled diffs these days, but the only way they can improve the torque steer Is by making the power even more progressive or limiting the power... You think its bad at 350bhp, it only gets worse at 400bhp+. Bringing a 400bhp+ starlet on boost with an LSD is enough to change your lane on the motorway unless your awake... They take some driving!
