well i had my first car stolen within two weeks of passing my test, so i got £2200 for my £1000 rust bucket of a corsa from the insurance company and set about getting a jap motor... i initially wanted a micra, or an oldskool mr2 mk1, but the insurance was too high on the mr2 and the micra was just too girly for me... and then i spotted a starlet for sale locally went down to veiw it drove it and wanted it!!!! it was everything i wanted and it was rare. i got laughed at when i turned up in college with my starly but i knew i loved the car because i didnt care what anyone said!

thanks for that ;) gradually getting an idea of the plan... i was considering a hks actuator before xmas anyway, so i see what your getting at now. stopping wise, the car had just had all new standard discs and pads fitted to the front and new pads for the rear, a few days before i bought it, so for now i dont think theres any need, as it stops better than my old na, and that had 3g discs and greenstuff pads! suspension wise ive just had a set of tanbe sustec springs and dampers fitted, so for now the handling is sorted for what i use the car for (im still babying it ) so now im just real

you say that though phil, but to be honest, the factory 4e one is not that bad... it may look restrictive, but the 4efe in the glanza s has the same mani, and that knocks out anything around 80-99bhp. the 5efe has the same one too. its only the 5efhe one thats different, an i had it fitted to my old na for a while and to be honest, if anything it lost some backpressure and was a real bitch to drive. you gotta remember that the 5efhe revs to 7k+ and the humble uk na revs to 6k so its probably designed to give higher revving performance.

cheers eks, thats really helpful. ;) i dont want to get a decat until ive got the fuelcut sorted... as ive limited on money at the mo, so i dont wanna drive around right on top of fuelcut as i wont have the money to sort it. how much do the blitz ecu's go for? does anyone know of someone who could source me one? and if its mapped for a totally different setup, will it not compensate the fueling anyway? so it would be fairly safe? NDR008, do you not loose some boost when you fit a fmic? as i dont want to go down the route of a bleed valve to increase the boost if it drops... any other recomme

ok guys, while im soring my new V with some alloys and other bits and pieces, what do you guys recommend for some initial tuning mods? ive got my hks super bov fitted, and i am probably going to stay with the boxed airfilter (getting a blitz panel), i have a backbox waiting to go on also, but im just wondering what would be some good choice modifications to start my power hike before i start going down the fmic route, i'd like to get one of the blitz ecu's but i know theyre as rare as rocking horse poo. what do you guys suggest? i will probably get the exhaust system rebuilt just after i f

you can use the 5efhe 4 into 2 mani, but you need the downpipe that goes from 2 into 1 also, you can get these from andrew at toyotasera.co.uk. if you need a replacement 4efe mani i have one.

question... ive always wanted to know what the engine temperatures go like when a fmic is fitted, is it a big restriction on the rad and air con rad? are there kits available that you dont have to sacrefice your a/c for?

its ok, ive had it for a while, it looks like its really good and full of info, but its not really that helpful for engine changes and other bits and pieces.... its a vaige to be honest... but good find anyway joz ;)

thats the idea sparky ;) you will see them soon... theyre 14's bud. i got it from lma motorsport mate... i got it thru work so it only cost me £1.37, it had a crappy 3w bulb in it, but i replaced it with a brighter one. http://www.lma-group.com/motorsport/What_s...what_s_new.html never thought about that dude!! htats a good idea... o well, its done now! so i might look at re doing it like that at a later date. cheers people, Rich.

*tidying up* ok ive been working on a way to keep all the lights at the back as they are and still have a foglight that isnt garish... so i came up with this.... its now under the bumper and is tiny... i thought that it was gonna be too small to be bright enough, but it seems to be pretty bright!! other bits are waiting to go on, but im holding out... i have now got one of the wheels refurbed, and it looks awesome!! ;) really pleased with the colour i chose... but theyre staying secret till i put them on the car which should be in a few weeks!! Rich.
