  1. Thanks mate, it was a bit emabarassing when the gf managed after me failing so many times plus she's tiny, but tbh but that time I was juts glad it was finally in! Yeah I'd say I'm in a fairly good position to give some feedback on the Meister's afer trying quite a few setups. The brakes are definately one of the next things to do, I could've had them sorted by now if I wasn't saving for a house but I had to restrain myself - they need doing soon though, athough I may sneak on a little something else before them! Thanks bud, it's needing a good clean just now but does look much better on the Rays after being on it's winter wheels for the last few months.
  2. No probs mate, I would certainly recommend them.;) I had them set up at a proper wheel alignment centre, I got the camber set to 1.2 degrees negative as it gives nice handling without increasing the wear rate on the tires by too much, I hope!
  3. Cheers mate, no the only recent problems was getting that bloody clutch done. This engine is running good just now - "touch wood".
  4. After seeing Enzo giving rave reviews on the MeisterR coilovers I thought I would give them a try so I ordered a set off the man himself. Before the Meister's I was running BC coilovers (and Cusco's before them) and was slightly disappointed with them as they didn't give quite the ride quality I was hoping for so I opted for the Meister's in the hope that they could do what the BC's didn't. My inital impressions of the MeisterR's straight out of the box was that they seemed very similar to the BC's in overall look and build quality; This is more evident when seen back to back with the BC's; So after seeing this I had my doubts whether they would offer much improvement over the BC's. The Meister's didn't have me hugely impressed to start with, they did feel slightly better than the BC's but not by much. However after letting them settle for a few weeks they've softened up nicely and after getting the alignment done today I am very impressed and happy with them. They offer much better damping than the BC's (and hugely better than the Cusco's) and actually absorb bumps instead of bouncing over them, mid corner bumps are dealt with much better too giving much more confidence when pushing on. I have them set at 12 at the front at 8 at the rear from softest setting, so if need be I can soften them a lot more. Even my girlfriend commented that it's the comfiest my car has ever felt. The MeisterR's are what I had hoped the BC's would be when I got them, they offer much more compliance over bumps and smoothly absorb them whilst still giving flat cornering, the only problem with them is that you feel like you're driving slower since your not being bounced all over the place! So overall a big thumbs up for the MeisterR's and thanks to Jerrick for bringing us a set of coilovers properly suited to our backroads!
  5. Quite sometime without an update as the Glanza has been a little neglected over the winter, being mostly kept off the road, however I finally got round to a couple of things... Firstly a few weeks ago I finally got round to attempting to fit this; A replacement ORC 309D friction disc, to go in my Blitz Active clutch. The slipping from the old clutch had become quite rediculous so it was well overdue! Fitting it should have been straight forward except I ended up having a nightmare getting the box back on the engine after everything had been changed - I just couldn't get the shaft through the clutch hole. Somewhat ironically (and embarassingly) my girlfriend was the one who eventually managed this after myself trying numerous times, a mate of mine and some random who actually works for toyota (no names mentioned to save embarassment! ) all giving it a good go. Some photo's during the change; Whilst the car was sitting up on axle stands refusing to accept the gearbox I also set about fitting my new coilovers - this has become a slightly routine thing since this is now the 4th set I've had on the car! The set in question are some MeisterR Zeta-R coilovers; After hearing a few reviews on these - specifically from people who like myself mainly drive on rough b roads, they sounded like the kind of suspension I had hoped the BC's I had previously would be - that is one's which can handle bumpy roads with out trying to throw you straight off them. My initial impressions and what I had thought previously were that they look to be copies of the BC's, with the general construction being very similar with some small differences here and there; I had my doubts whether they would offer much improvement over the BC's but finished fitting them and finally the clutch too; My first thoughts as I attempted to reverse the car out of the garage was that the clutch was now much heavier... and easy to stall with, 3 times easier to be precise since that's how many attempts it took me just to get out the garage. I now realise why people say this clutch is difficult to drive with everyday as compared to when it was well worn it is much more "bitey" and has a very small amount of travel on the pedal. However it does feel very good between the gears and now that it has a few miles on it, it is easier to drive with. The Meister's didn't have me hugely impressed to start with, they did feel slightly better than the BC's but not by much. After letting them settle for a few weeks though they've softened up nicely and after getting the alignment done today Iam very impressed and happy with them. They offer much better damping than the BC's (and hugely better than the Cusco's I had before) and actually absorb bumps instead of bouncing over them, mid corner bumps are dealt with much better too giving much more confidence when pushing on. Overall a big thumbs up for the MeisterR's! Now that the handling is well and truly sorted it has highlighted the one area that really needs improved on my Glanza.... the brakes.
  6. As long as the contacts are metal to metal it should be ok, just make sure the contact points are clean, both at the gearbox and onto the chassis.
  7. It's something called a joke since you have "smarter than einstien" in your sig. As said the ecu isn't behind the glove box on the ep82's.
  8. http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....c=29491&hl= Most people that have used these boost controllers have ended upgetting rid of them as they just don't work. Unfortunately as suggested you would be best getting rid of it for one that's known to work well.
  9. Even einstein know's they're not the same in all EP's.
  10. Did people not advise you that the HDI one's are crap when you asked about them?
  11. Wouldn't neccessarily say less tacky, the stuff they sell for imports - ie american and german cars, is awful - bling bling! But they do sell proper tuning bits too.
  12. The drivers side lsd shaft is shorter too.
  13. Pretty decent power at that boost anyway. Your issue sounds a little similar to the very first wicked ep hybrid, it surged really badly and he thought it was down to the compressor and turbine being mismatched. Hope you get it sorted though, if not you will just have to make another revision!
  14. Yeah I thought you must've repainted it since as you say the zisco paint seems to burn off instantly! You should get it dyno'd to see what the pwer curve looks like, when does it spool and hit full boost?
  15. Turbo looks very interesting and similar in size to the td04. Certainly plenty of weld on that wastegate too! Have you resprayed your zisco manifold or is that still as it came from zisco?
  16. It doesn't matter how many plugs either has as the emanage needs to be wired into the stock ecu wiring, or fitted using an extension harness. However the emanage will fit (by wiring it in) as they're universal.
  17. Nice photoshop, what did you really buy?
  18. Not a good idea to play with the fuelling without checking it with the proper equipment. Just fitting the fmic shouldn't really make a difference to the fuelling unless you've now developed a lead foot?
  19. It's a restrictor to help stop the boost spiking.
  20. Yup Jason's correct.
  21. I recommend you turn the boost down for a start if you want reliability. 1.4 bar is far too high for a stock ct9!
  22. That blue is not the same as the glanza purpley blue: 8K9 - Purplish Blue I\'d say the colour on the uk starlet above is much nicer. I would agree though that the glanza\'s in the bluey/purple colour is the rarest, just because you see one everyday that\'s obviously from your area doesn\'t make them common!
  23. Ah good stuff, well that is a nice cheap decent upgrade then, let us know how they feel once on.
  24. No, you'll just lose a bit of power and it will sound crap.
  25. Personally I'd get rid of it and get a decent one.
