  1. Its so long since I removed my aircon that I'm not sure! If you remove the engine splash guard you can get to the oil filter quite easily (with the car jacked up), but the aircon pump is right in the way too so it would probably need removed but I'm not entirely sure...
  2. Well if you still have the aircon in it will be an even bigger pain in the arse, if you don't have that in then you can get to the oil filter easily. When you go to fit the sandwich plate you'll see where you need to grind away the bracket and where it will foul the sandwich plate, depending on the sandwich plate you might be able to grind a bit off it which would be easier. This is a pic of someone else's car, you can see where they've grinded a bit of the sandwich plate, however its a small one to start with: Edit: You can see the standard oil pressure switch here: Its down on the right hand side of the block, however, again its hard to get off without having at least the downpipe removed.
  3. A grinder is really the only other option, you can tee both the pressure and temp sensors into where the stock oil pressure switch connects to make it a bit easier.
  4. Unless yu grind away the power steering bracket then no its won't fit, it may also foul the air filter piping. You can see how I fitted mine here: http://www.ukstarletclub.com/forums/index....mp;#entry209570
  5. You mangaed to buy it without even looking at it....impressive. The one you did buy is much better though. I agree that the snow version and lightweight/poverty/non existant version are two different things.
  6. Well lane? Never heard of it! Surely you can figure out how to take it apart by looking at it, don't know where you'd find a spring though - especially since I've never heard of that make, a generic spring from another make might fit though.
  7. I was looking at that on firebox.com only £324,000. http://www.firebox.com/product/415/Moller-Skycar-M400
  8. Doesn't mean you've ever serviced it yourself, plus you were going on about getting a new glanza so I thought you'd maybe got it.
  9. Well if you are telling the truth you're gonna become a worldwide forum legend for being the biggest nub ever. Poor Glanza.
  10. Are you serious???!!! You "flushed" the oil out with a hose!?!?!?! With the engine running!?!?!?!?!!? Seriously I assume your taking the piss, if not then I'm sorry but you're a fucking idiot you've probably hydrolocked your engine, whoever told you that would be ok to do is an even bigger fucking idiot. This is gonna become like the thread about porting and polishing an engine using a a bag of sand.
  11. Then the harnesses get in the way though and everything in the back just flys about. ;)
  12. Cheers guys, I'm enjoying the car a lot more now. The rear arb has made a great difference the ride is actually better with it as the car feels much more planted, plus I softened up the front coilovers slightly and it seems to have made it handle bumps a bit better. ;) I also managed to sort a lot of little niggles the other day, ie leaking manifold gasket, squeaking radiator and squeaking power steering pulley, so overall I'm much happier with it. Its still feeling slightly down on power though so a trip to a rolling road is really needed (as I keep saying), plus a new speedo converter as running in kmh has lost its novelty although seeing 180mph on the clock is fun! :D
  13. Post count isn't everything. ;) Plus it hasnt got anything to do with popularity, although sometimes the rep system is used that way. I don't think the rep system is needed over here, half the time it is just used so you can wave your willy about and show how good you are, but then again that does also mean that questions are more likely to be answered when a "reward" is given. However I think this site has a small enough community that you know who gives good answers and has the technical knowledge etc
  14. They'd all fit on the back seat no problem.
  15. I was wondering why my post count has gone down? I was over 1000 a week or so ago, I'm not bothered but was just curious as to why it had gone down? ;) I'm almost under one post a day now.
  16. Since I still had to fit the sensors for the Defi oil pressure and temp gauges I thught I may aswell do a couple of other little things at the same time, since the way I wanted to fit the sensors required the removal of the turbo and mani setup. The plan was to strip down and spray my road runner manifold, since it was looking a bit sorry for itself as you can see in the previous post above. I also thought I would port the wastegate on my ct9 since it has a bit of boost creep which I hoped to eradicate. So first off I took everything apart and rubbed down the mani to remove all the surface rust then cleaned it up with some turpse, until it looked like this: Then I sprayed it with some high temp exhaust paint and placed it in a pre heated oven (275 degrees c) and baked until crispy. Whilst that was cooking I fitted the attachments for the gauge sensors, credit goes to WeeJohn for the idea of doing it this way and for the sending me the attachment for the oil temp sensor which fits in oil filter housing like so: The only problem with fitting the sensor here is you have to make a hole in the power steering bracket or it would foul on the sensor wire, since the bracket is 1cm thick cast iron it takes a while to drill through it with a crap drill! The pressure sensor is a much easier though using an adaptor to fit it along with the standard pressure gauge like so: After checking on the road runner (baking nicely) I attempted to port the turbo wastegate but after killing quite a few grinding stones I gave up so no pics of that. The road runner was then removed from the oven, left to cool overnight and refitted with it looking much better: I just hope the coating lasts a little while (although I did already chip it slightly) but its supposedly good upto 813 degrees c so should keep the rust at bay for a little while. It looks much better in the engine bay now too and the sensor wiring is also very neat imo.;)
  17. Oh well, not heard of one like that, don't think there's any sera owners on here either, there's a faw over on tgtt though...
  18. There was a similar option in starlets, the jdm one's anyway. It was an air purifier thing, basically so you could smoke in the car and it wouldn't smell, sounds similar anyway. It was a roof mounted thing, I'm sure Jay will be along with a pic at some point.
  19. You can see the braid on them so quite obvious really. Are you still having brake problems or are they ok now?
  20. Anybody what? That one sounds f*cked and I wouldn't touch it with barge pole.
  21. Cheers mate, they are very nice gauges. Yeah I've been meaning to get one for ages, the preaching is all true! In the words of Cleveland: "Thats nasty"
  22. Where have I seen a photo like that before? Nice picture mate but I'd say the North side is better for pictures.
  23. I would recommend it as the most effective handling mod for the money, it really does make the car handle much better, the back of the car really helps the car round the corners now rather than just skipping about uselessly. Cheers mate, it did come up pretty nice. I finally did a compression test on the new engine today and it came up as 175, 175, 176 and 180 from cylinders 1 to 4 so pretty healthy. However the car's been feeling a bit restricted and unhappy to rev recently so I'm wanting to get it back on a rolling road asap to see if its down on power or whether I'm just being my usual paranoid self.
