  1. ^^^^^ They are for 18+ though. They are very good as well. @ Minxy - I see what you mean about n/a's being wannabe's as i sort have a similar opinion. Why make a car something that it isn't. But then you look at some of the examples of Glanza body conversions on here and the effort that goes into them is amazing. Look at Idrees' and there is a white one on here as well but i have forgot his username. Loads said i should have bought a Glanza and i even had doubts during the process but i wanted to be different and do the swap. The downside is the higher insurance than a Glanza V would be but when you beat another car that clearly should lose against a 1.3 n/a, the swap pays for itself . Bourkey
  2. Yeah i know him. He had just passed his test a few days before getting the insurance. Import car, not the greatest of postcodes as Manchester is a hotspot for car theft at the moment, and being 17 all contributed to it being 5K. Personally i wouldn't have paid it but if you want something so badly and you have the money then you would. Everyone around Craig said he should get a different car but it's the car he wants and no one was going to change his mind and why should he if it is what he wants? Believe me i wish i had a Glanza S as my first car. I paid over £1400 in my first year on a 1993 1.0l Micra. Bourkey
  3. Hi all, Here is a list i created when i was doing my n/a to 4efte swap. It will help all you guys that are planning to do your swaps in the near future. If there is any thing that needs adding please let me know . My personal most important thing was a decent set of tools. The last thing you want to happen is to have to get some to take you tool shopping halfway through because you haven't got something. Close second was telephone numbers. Helped me massively. You will need: Engine lift A good trolley jack Axle stands Lots of cardboard to lie on or a car creeper Engine Oil (if it hasn't already got it) Gearbox oil Coolant A good set of tools A 4EFTE engine & ECU An n/a & turbo loom made or a Glanza engine & interior loom with the dash The 4EFTE power steering pipe A few of you to do it Telephone numbers of people who can give advice or help Lots of patience To Do: Remove oil Remove coolant Remove gearbox oil Remove radiator Remove exhaust Remove Speedo cable Remove accelerator cable Remove petrol lines Remove gearbox hydraulic line and clamp up. Remove gearbox cables Remove power steering pump feed Remove battery and bracket Remove brake vacuum pipe Pull Amplifier power cable into car (if you have one) Remove ECU Pull old loom out of interior Remove old sensor on firewall Remove bonnet Remove bumper Jackup and place car on axle stands Remove front wheels Remove drive shafts from diff Hook up engine lift and tighten Unbolt engine Lift out engine Clean engine bay Drop 4EFTE in Jack up gearbox into postion Bolt in and remove lift Put drive shafts in Fill gearbox with oil Fit gearbox cables Fit petrol lines Fit gearbox hydraulic line and bleed it. Fit power steering feeds to pump. Fit brake vacuum pipe Fit radiator Fit FMIC or TMIC Fit BOV or block off BOV hole Fit radiator pipes Fill radiator with coolant Fit exhaust system Fit Speedo cable Fit accelerator cable Fit 4EFTE ECU Plug in Loom to interior Fit amplifier power lead Fit MAP sensor Fit coil pack Fit bumper Fit bonnet Fit wheels Jack car off Stands Remove axle stands and lower car Fit battery Remove the injector connectors Turn key Let it turn over for a few seconds Connect injectors back up Start engine Bourkey

  6. @ Joey - Mint Mine went from good, to crap and to good again. It started good on Friday as my new mani gaskets had come but it just went downhill from there. I was fitting the gaskets and thought the rocker cover was looking a bit rough so i took it off for a fresh coat of paint. In doing so i snapped the PCV on the top of it. I thought super glue would fix it but it didn't. Plumes of smoke were coming rom the exhaust. They were like clouds and they covered my entire street. No joke it was like fog. So i pulled the PCV off to get a new one but i was pissed off and i pulled the whole thing out leaving half of inside the rocker cover. So i went hunting for a new rocker cover in the scrap yards around Manchester. Eventually found an n/a 4E with a rough looking cover. Flew it to my dads work where he polished it up like new. Put it on but the car ran like crap. I had flooded the engine with rubbish and fuel. My dad said to take it on the motorway to blast it out so i did. My foot was flat to the floor and it was only doing 65mph. Not good. Two minutes later the car choked and tons of crap came out of the exhaust and suddenly i was doing 90+. Now it drives like a dream . I missed the rolling road though which i was pretty gutted about. Bourkey

  9. Well im glad your still alive. I like the way you or someone else has handled the most important part of the crash and got a picture straight away . I say get another one and start a clean slate bud. Only thing i can thik of by looking at the pictures is that you were caught on some leaves. Deadly little things. You might aswell be driving on ice really. Bourkey

  19. As Phil said. You don't need the rear disks just because you are doing the swap. Save your pennies for the swap then sort them out afterwards if you really want them. The back brakes do about 10-15% of the braking so disks or drums it doesn't really matter unless your taking it on a track of course. Im still running drums on mine and unless a GT or a Glanza comes into the local scrappy then im not bothering. Make sure you have good stoppers up front though . Bourkey
  20. @ Phil - It did make a mess Phil. Look at the top pictures of it on the car and you can see it had the plastic with a glowing GT Badge but the picture just there has a different one. Shame as the glowing GT boots are pretty rare. At least it's getting sorted bud. And the strut brace idea seems a fitting punishment for the crime. Bourkey
  21. Holy hell that is bad!!!! If i saw my car like that i think i would cry. I hope the person or people who did this get whats coming to them. Bourkey
  22. Yes end of. When you take out insurance it asks you what you are using the car for. If you have an accident when using it for business use and your insurance find out, which they usually will, you might as well drive uninsured ;). Bourkey
  23. Where is Dudley. I have been flying about all weekend. I must have covered about 400 miles this weekend! Bourkey
