  1. Have you tried it with less boost? i.e. 0.7bar to ensure it is well below even factory fuel cut? Any error codes? Have you check the condition of the plugs, dizzy cap and rotor arm? Are you monitoring the boost? Is it boost creeping? Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  2. LS400s are fantastic cars, well worth keeping hold of it if you can, especially seeing the resale costs of them at the moment. 1UZ is a monster of a motor, keep toying with the idea of one for our Hilux Surf Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  3. Had a look over the stand, mainly at Lew's Meisters Good show as per usual chaps, well done! Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  4. Redline, We inspected the car for you as requested, before mapping, and gave you our diagnosis. We also adjusted the clutch pedal to ensure the slave cylinder was getting enough movement, we then road tested the car, all was well. I then gave you the option as you were unsure about mapping, you had a think about it and decided to have it mapped, so we did. Again the car was ok when on the dyno, and again fine on the second road test after mapping. Nothing is perfect, we understand that which is why when you repeatedly rang the workshop, the advice was to bring it and let us listen and have a look, as it is useless speculating over the telephone This is the first I've heard from you after mapping, you haven't contacted me at all, despite me asking you to let me know how you get on with it, we were also about 20 yards from you over at JapFest yesterday, did you not think to pop over if you think you still have a problem? I spoke to your brother on the Sunday morning briefly and nothing was mentioned either. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  5. Fuel economy would be terrible. Unless you're on a full standalone ECU I wouldn't even consider removing the lambda sensor. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  6. Yellowstuff pads work well, run some decent brake fluid and braided lines and they'll do you fine. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  7. Calibrate the TPS sensor, should hopefully sort it. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd

  12. Base timing was checked and set before tuning commenced. Ignition timing levels were not excessive, as stated in the previous thread, we do not go to the extremes with a customers car, there are many variables to allow for which means we leave a safety margin. If this damage has happened so quickly, then we would have been aware of the issue whilst on the dyno for several hours, and then also out on the road afterwards. The motor was silent through det cans and was running A1 when it left, you road tested it yourself before deciding to still tow it home. Without seeing the car, and from what you have explained to me via PM, I would look into your fuel system on the car with a view towards fuel starvation at extended periods of extreme load. Probably also worth picking up a stronger, more stable EBC. Thanks Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  13. If you decide to go new, give me a shout Liam. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  14. Timing maps were not agressive in either circumstance, This would show up when mapping the car through the cans also. It is pointless for us to tune a customers car to tolerances so close to the edge. There are many variables that you have to account for when mapping the car. A safety margin is always left in the map to allow for these. Thanks Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  15. Rods can fail, its unfortunate that it happened, but it did. These cars are designed around 133bhp and getting on for 20 years old, some folk seem to forget that quite easily. Not quite sure what that is refering to either, but it is easy to simply point the finger. Without proper inspection of components it is hard to say what has gone wrong. This car had no knock levels and was safe on the fueling, both on the dyno and on the road. Hence why we stopped before 1.4bar as the injectors weren't up for it in our opinion. We wouldn't want to push it that close to the limit as it is pointless. Thanks Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  16. You can make them fit, but they're not direct replacement no. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd

  21. Blitz & HKS gates are normally 4 bolt setups. If you're able to have the 4 bolt flange removed and either a 2 bolt diamond flange or v-band then you can use TiAL or Tubosmart which are very easily available. Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
  22. Almost sensible Jack, i'm impressed! Cheers Mike Jones Tuning Developments Ltd
