  1. I consider myself quite knowledgable when it comes to cars, and tonight whilst having a family meal we were all chatting when the subject of my mums old Corolla GT came up. Now she was saying how she missed it, how it was really fast, faster than any car she has owned since and so on...then I said yeah, from what I remember it was rapid for a 1.6...especially when Dad drove it! Her reply was no it was a 2.0. Now my parents aren't together anymore and my stepdad & little brother whos 17 both agree they thought it was a 2.0 as well (the car was sold in 2001 when I was 10 and my mum and stepdad had been together 2yrs or so) Now at this point I said it cant have been, I'm sure they never put a 2.0 into the old AE80 series Corollas?! She's absolutely adamant it was a 2.0 and even after me searching on Google I can't find such a car!? So, anyone know anything about this? Please tell me I'm right and she's mistaken? Otherwise I'm gonna feel like a right muppet!!!
  2. I really want one but cant afford the insurance! I love how diesels produce silly amounts of torque! A friend has a slightly tuned 306 HDI and it keeps up with the Glanza! Shocking
  3. Cheers for the comments guys, much appreciated I wasnt too sure on the wheels when I first fitted them back on, but theyve grown on me so much! Next big update will be in 2 weeks time...cant wait for the bodywork to be sorted and have my rear lip fitted!!!!
  4. Update time... Been a while since I last posted in here... a lot has gone on Team! Car is now booked in for the bodywork to be done - 9th July until 14th July. Getting the whole N/S resprayed/blended in with the rest of the paint, getting the rear bumper repaired and resprayed (poss accident damage on close inspection - bulged up under the number plate in the centre section of the bumper), fitting and spraying my OEM rear lip and repairing the dent in the rear quarter below the fuel cap! So in just over two weeks the old girl will be looking FRESH to death! Can't wait woooo! The wheels are back and looking gorgeous, had a bit of a dilemma near the start as I wasn't sure on whether I actually liked them but luckily theyve grown on me and I'm happy with them now. The response received by the local bunch are that they look superb so I'm chuffed to bollocks with them! The wheel nuts are a bit shit, have got marks where Ive been taking them on and off but I guess thats life, it was inevitable that it was gonna happen! Carbon centre caps, white rim tape and white Advan Racing stickers finish the wheels off a treat. Bit of Poorboys on there too, in order to seal them in. Pretty impressed with it tbh but should really have done a few coats I reckon. But was in a rush to put them on so I could get over to my mates for the football! So anyway, enough talking...heres some pictures. Comments and criticisms welcome as always A few pics with my mates freshly resprayed Opel Kadett...fitted with a C20LET! Had a little race with him and it dicked all over me, running at just 2psi! Quality reg plate on it too!
  5. LOL From the title I was getting worried...the white Rays are like perfect in my eyes!
  6. Out of interest, what helmet was it? I see you were going to a karting event thats all. Try MK Racewear, they're nice and cheap and an excellent service too!
  7. Come on son, where's the build up of the new SR?!

  8. Please do it! Thats what I always wanted to do to Sidney!
  9. As per title, whats peoples opinions on Poorboys Wheel Sealant? Anybody used it? Is it really as good as people make out? Thinking of getting some to plaster on my Advans when they come back from the powdercoaters, hoping it will protect them and make cleaning them a doddle

    Speeding

Not necessarily. My 3 points are for 55mph in a 30 zone, just got very, very lucky! And James, glad to hear its all sorted now and you didnt lose it. Just take it as a reminder there's no need to give it the big one in residential areas...save it for the quieter, safer A/B roads just remember to always keep an eye out for the law!
  11. Phew, was getting worried about this myself!
  12. The wheels are officially at the powdercoaters! Dropped them off this morning, seen a set in the colour I want which he had just done the day before and they look the boy!!! Rim tape and Advan stickers have arrived...just waiting on the carbon centre caps and D1 wheelnuts now then it'll be job done!
  13. +27648592712 Try DJH numberplates on eBay, they did mine and they were really cheap. Got the BSAU mark and everything
  14. With the Speedlines?
  15. Looking at the pics again bud, I'm actually amazed at that paintwork! Really is a credit to all your hard work!
  16. The wheels themselves aren't going lairy but the lips and nuts certainly are!
  17. Loving the car mate, looks minty fresh! I reckon a set of gloss Black or Anthracite Speedlines would make this THE perfect N/A!! It's a close run thing between yours and Liams one in my opinion, but Liam's dont count because its Glanza-fronted
  18. Not telling, although you may already know as I've just posted it on Faceyb so shushhh!
  19. Looks mint mate! I need to get me some matching Recaros... getting pissed off with people getting in and going "Why has it got odd seats?"
  20. Update timeeee The Advans are off! I've took them off, unbolted the centre caps and everything so hopefully will have them off to the powdercoaters next week for some TLC Not telling what colour yet, but theres big plans and these aren't going back on until I've got them just right! Hoping to be able to get hold of some anodized bolts for the six on each centre cap...but being so tiny and obscure I'd put money on it that I won't be able to get any!! Plus some posh wheel nuts and rim tape, these should look the daddy once they're back on the car! Here's them stacked up against the wall, and yes thats as clean as I could get them! Below that is a close up of the worst wheel, showing how bad they are close up. Currently rocking the MK3 Golf rims...sick y0! So another update will be made once I've got the new wheels on, then its bodywork time! Got a few quotes, speaking to a local guy on Monday who did one of my stepdads old cars, hopefully he'll sort it out for me because I know his works good! Then the next plan of action is give it a full service! Everything that looks even slightly worn out will be getting replaced just peace of mind From there on in...more power!
  21. I didnt know there was a difference lol, something is clicking anyhow! Need to have a meet up mate! Havent seen your GT yet
  22. Cheers guys, looks like my O/S CV boot is going though! Clicking like crazy maynnnn! Anybody got any ideas on how much they are, fitted?
  23. Just tried it slightly differently and yes it worked but only for a short while then hit fuel cut againnnn! Yeah it was good for the erm 3 minutes it lasted lol
  24. Just tried de-restricting the boost in 1st & 2nd on my Glanza, and all that I managed to do was get it boosting to 15psi and hitting fuel cut?! I did it exactly as the picture describes and thats what happened. Shit my pants though because when I put it back to how it was 4 miles down the road, it ended up with a flat spot and seemed a little bit down on boost even though the gauge was still saying 11psi. Then the engine management light came on, so I stopped turned it off, turned it back on and it seems to have cured it and gone back to how it was. Pretty lucky really! Any ideas why it didn't work?
