  1. need to com sit in and play with this little monster. i will have the mega squirt running son bro so do not get a ECU yet. i can do a mea squirt 2 for around 250 notes i think.
  2. yep, and how many oil leaks do u hear of like pauls V keeps blowing seals cause he has a catch can plumbed the worst way across his rocker cover and he if running high booste presure. tut tut tut. this engine does not need a can in my opinion. and im yet to see 1 plumed in right. plz learn to trust in me lads as i do not guess i know how it works, and it is so very basic and the function it does think i learnt about engine breathing in my first year at collage. we should call our selfs the myth buster lol
  3. lol, you said it bro, like the fools that run from 1 thw the can and thn back to other, Ooch this is the worst way toput a catch can in, its doing less thn nothing and will cause u problems. i have seen som bad examples on here of how not to do it. Hehehehe and trust me that front pully is heavy, a lightend 1 will help take loud off the crank.
  4. the oposit end to the TB, thr are 2 8mm bolt holes and a single 12mm hole into the manifold this needs blocking up do not put anything else in the hole other than body filler or a plate, but if u use body filler be very carefull to clean it (grease and oil free) and watch u do not push filler all the way thw the hole. just a nuff to cover.

  9. wer abouts u at fella, i will pm u my number and talk u thw the instalation mate. shine it up, and u will need a blanking plate making for wer the idle valve sits.
  10. just leave the valve pluged into the mani but take everything else off it the wiring pipes the lot (just to be used as a plug mate, thr is a idle screw on the top of the throttle body to set idle mate.
  11. give me a bell and i will tell u how to find out wat your problem is, i would say its the thermo valve not heating up under the throttle body (air lock) always happens
  12. sorry for late reply mate, yes it appers that the restrictions on the newer 4efe engines are in the inlet manifold. the older corrola engine 93+ had a very good set up so well thy had to put a tiny TB on it to limmet power. if u look on all engines u will find the inlet restriction som wer. since coming on the site i could not understand y u would use the roller mani. plus the ECU on these cars are very good at addapting to mods. u can also just put the turbo mani on and u will see good gains. i recon from the 45mm starlet TB.

  14. a typical oil presure switch opens at around 6 psi, which if u ask me is low. up the idle and check oil presure at 3k rpm lwest limmit is 2.5 bar.
  15. not convinced fella, the throttel flaps would just cause restriction to booste presure i would say and u would have to design a manifold to attach to the body ports, massive waste of time if u ask me. and wen i ran TB's it give u lots of top end but thy have a massive flat spot lowwer down the rev range, which gives anything but good throttle respons. sorry dude i am normaly behind u but this 1 is a no brianer. if anything it will gve u a smoother running engine and near 2 even power delivery 2 every cylinder but the manifold that feeds the bodies needs to be a great design.

  17. it would cause exess movment of the valve so stem seal would not seal and valve head would not seal.
  18. this is typical bottom end warning, check oil presure before doing anything else.

  20. yep just looked back on your photos of the engine fresh out on the floor and fan switch is intak, so to me it was either done in transit or wen engine was fitted,wen u told me how fast thy fit it i started to get worried. remember its not a race wen doing these jobs, thr are lots of checks to be done after installing.
  21. i have had this happen on a lotus, bin in dry storage for 12years took a risk told him to not start it only to find the engine is dead needs full srip down. due to being stood for so long. gutted only paid 2500 for a elan 1.6 turbo but the engine parts will set me back 5k. should have just got a decent elan.
  22. just put a bigger manifold on it, 2 enclose throttle bodies for turbo application makes not a lot of sence, u will see just as much power with a high flow manifold and single TB, and less moving parts. and a step backwards would be to ditch the turbo and go N/A with throttle bodies.
