  1. What was the garage? Where is it?
  2. Planning on fitting them tomorrow mate. Only thing is I dno what im gny do about adjusting them because theyve been on the car so they are tight and I dont have c spanners. Did they come with any? I dont want to take them apart if the have been setup so im pondering over ma next move lol. Dyin to get them on tho gna order a couple of ball joints and arm bushes too so everythins spot on.
  3. Why not just run low boost until you get emanage? Save yourself money and more than likely an engine. FCD's are an accident waiting to happen save up do it right and be patient. Good things come......
  4. Time for a little end of year update bought a few little parts through december and a more special one after christmas. Workwise I have a pile of parts still, probably like most people who arent lucky enough to have a garage to fit them the weather has been abysmal the rain is unreal. Anyway a couple photos of what i've collected. The one part I did get fitted thanks to a bit of gentle persuasion ( i was genuinely convinced it didnt fit ) Nice little HKS TT I picked up And finally the creme de le creme courtesy of shuan and his 4 paw antics lol To anyone that may be interested keep an
  5. Ah nice one buddy get on the scottish quatre say hello to the troops.
  6. Only use semi sythetic in a standard engine these are old engine and synthetic oil isnt designed for the low tolerances of old engine. They are fine if your forged but you need a semi for a standard engine. Ive tried loads and found mobil 1 super 2000 10w40 lasted longest before it thinned out. Its mainly down to you.
  7. Depends on where you drive and what kind of noise you want. If you do motorway mileage and like chatter then go for something Blitz or Greddy U wont go wrong and they will outlast the car. They are made to a high standard they are adjustable by either screwing or changing the spring and are pretty much the muts nuts of BOV's. If you just want the woooosh noise and dont do much motorway driving then and this will be controversial but go for a baileys there cheap as chips but they are definately the loudest and give the longest woooosh noise. But bear in mind you get what you pay for they are
  8. I very much doubt that id be absolutely blown away if this was the reason, mine was the same way and ive heard or others its just a starlet thing.
  9. If u notice any car with legal hids have a self contained eyeball style section for them to direct the beam whereas starlets have open headlights with rear reflector plate that doesnt contain the beam correctly. Saying that ive had mine fitted for 3or 4 years with no issues from the law but its just your luck tbh.
  10. Its not difficult but should any bolts chew or cross threads youll be in for an interesting day. I was just being realistic. Give it a go tho like everyone says garuntee it takes you longer than an hour tho mate. Just a word of warning.
  11. Aye wis big cambell that owns the mazda mate he wid wave hed know who u were by your motor. Aye defo agree afterall theres plenty scottish boys drive down to england for the shows im sure some from the north east and west would head up if we had a stand. Should even get n unofficial meet for the Fife Glasgow and Ayrshire lots. Ofcourse any of the Aberdeen boys would be welcome if they wanted to travel.
  12. Its all down to how original your car is condition of bolts etc. If you are still fairly standard then there will be an hour or 2s work. Got to remember these guys dont know starlets inside out the way we do so its all new to them every car is different. I can get my full turbo kit off in 25 min but thats with plenty practise. You must be living in a land of discounts buddy no garage would do it for that. The cheapest garages charge £40 an hour labour.
  13. Aye sounds like yours is exact same symptoms I have had. Ud be surprised how much a nice straight set of wheels. My shockers were shot aswell and when I changed that was a massive difference. Just a case of changing all the parts I said and since your doing it yourself then youl be able to do it relatively cheaply could even do the arm bushes and anti lift kit would help. Personally I'm just gna throw all the handling parts at mine that I can.
  14. I wasnt sure if you had coilovers sorry mate. Also how old are the wheels and have you had them checked for straightness? Most garages will just balance them to zero regardless so you should have them checked with the tyre off. You can probably replace the balljoints, track rods and track rod ends for about just over £100 if you do the work yourself. If that doesnt sort it then You will just need to accept the handling as I've done and just throw all the mods at it you can. I have a sneaky suspicion with this issue that its somthing unlikely thats causing it rather than excessive play in som
  15. Think this has been the 1st thread for us to post our pics and its made a difference. Same happened when I started that where we all from thread turned out there was alot more scottish boys than I thought. Threads we needto keep going. Keep it up lads!!
  16. Starlets come with floaty steering fitted as standard. Been battling it for 5 years now. Some nice new alloys and suspension made the biggest difference for me.
  17. Had to change them due to the shockers were off an EP82 and the collar at the top of the shocker rod was slightly bigger in diameter and didnt fit through the spring plate for the EP91. Pointing out that the different top mounts makes no difference to the car. Regardless It doesn't matter we are both saying the same thing. YES all EP91 and EP82 shockers are interchangeable.
  18. I said there was 4 holes. But standard Glanza top mounts have 3 stud. Please read it correctly before jumping down my throat.
  19. Ill make you an offer after christmas if you still have it mate.
  20. Glanza has 3 studs iddy GT has 4. Theres 4 holes on the Glanza tho. Had to change my Ep91 top mounts for EP82 ones.
  21. Was stopped about 10 times in 3 months when I 1st passed my test and had a 1.3 fiesta mainly because it had 5 people in there a all times with smoke pouring out the windows. Never stopped randomly in the Glanza but have been stopped twice, once for driving down a bus and taxi street which I still disagree to. 1ce for doing 99mph which I really have no arguement about. Never stopped in my VXR ever mainly due to it being sensible.
