  2. Ah sorry bud!
  3. Yeah GTBitz usually have a few in stock, but he only sells the complete engine with everything stock, will be about £600, but i sold all the bits off mine so worked out quite good in the end. http://www.gtbitz.com/ he doesnt list them on his website though most of the time, only ebay, ring him Tel: +44 (0) 7702 112 770 Worth a ring to see what hes got, he usually puts them on ebay
  4. What a basdard, what the hells he been doing for 3 weeks!
  5. Ah bummer, i guess you will just have to send it back to Kenwood then Just say its been sent back twice and you want a new one, probably less hassle for them!
  6. Now you have derestricted it, the gasses are flowing out of your engine quicker so its sucking more air in no doubt, but the fueling hasnt increased. Your hitting fuel cut as the car is sensing your running more boost than it was designed for out of the factory. Buy your self a fuel cut defender, which will stop the engine management light coming on and your car from losing power( it will bypass the safety cut) DONT FIT IT WITHOUT UPRATING THE FUELING or it WILL go bang! i have seen loads of people knackering their starlets just by installing a FCD without sorting out the fueling too, its very important on a turbo charged car!! you will need to up your fueling to ensure its not going to run lean and melt somthing. Cheapest was is a RRFPR (rising rate fuel pressure regulator) or some kind of engine management ECU, there is loads on the forums on how to do it, so use the search option
  7. Lol it looks like the ship out of the film "Flight of the navigator" ha ha, and no way does it 0-60 in 2 seconds!
  8. How old is it, if its 12 months or less and you have your receipt you will be entitled to a full refund under "The sales of goods act" if the retailer wont give you a refund and is insisting on the manufactures warrenty that is a load of bull. You are entitled to: Faulty items and your consumer rights Any item you buy from a trader (eg shop or online shop) must be: of satisfactory quality fit for purpose as described If it isn't, the item is faulty and you can usually get one of the following: repair replacement refund Now that you have sent it back to the manufacturer for repair twice and still it doesnt work, you will easily be able to get your money back from the shop as the product isnt permforming to be "fit for purpose." Just mention consumer rights and if they dont refund then you will complain to them and they will get the money back for you. Goto here http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentciti...vices/DG_194650 then call them on 08454 04 05 06 and explain the problem, they are really helpfull and they will get your money back no problem! I did it with a flat screen tv that a shop refused to give me a refund on which kept breaking
  9. Hey sparky where is your uncles garage, is it close to Swansea? will he mot mine, i just dont want to get messed around by some garage who hasnt got a clue, seems there are quite a few!!
  10. The dark murky stuff is no doubt rust from the radiator system, although you have changed over to the civic rad your broken heater matrix is most likely the culprit, if its not working giving you any heat in your cabin then its no doubt blocked with crap, gunge, rust, which is why you dont get any heat from it. Thinking about it if its blocked then its going to be causing all sorts of problems with your coolant system with the water not being able to flow around correctly, i would remedy the heater matrix problem first, i am willing to bet my left leg thats where all your murky crap water is coming from! Are you getting excessive white smoke from your exhaust when its running, what colour are your plugs, take all 4 out and compare, you should have a nice tan brown colour, if one of them is soaking wet or black it could indicate that water is getting into that particular cylinder. Just work through it, get your matrix sorted first, then test the above.
  11. I think you only need to rotate one side to turn the oil feed around, my TD04 had the 90degree intake so i had to turn that too
  12. Well fook me i didnt even think about that, it better bloody go through then!
  13. Man speakers in a car, lol that day has long gone in mine. I had kept the stereo in but with all the interior stripped in mine you cant hear a thing over 50mph! Which is a bit of a bummer, so i took the stereo out today, looks like its the big sony head phones for me then ha ha!
  14. nice one ill be sure to do that!
  15. I rotated mine and the pins are easy to get off, literally just get a screwdriver and a hammer put it against the little bit sticking out and whack it, they just pop off, 2 min job. The bitch is getting the thing apart!! I would say it took me about 2 hours to rotate both sides, as i had to whack crap out of mine! Well worth the effort though
  16. Cool, mine is 1995 though so i dont think it comes under that Jap import clause which makes the restrictions easier to get through. I'll guess i just have to make sure they put it in as the right class as a few times with older cars, the idiots have put it through as the wrong type!
  17. Cracking work, really enjoy reading the work you have been doing on this!
  18. Cheers luke, i have spent so much time on this thing, i will be glad to get it done. Problem im finding is that alot of the parts im sticking in are having to be custom made now, like brackets and piping and stuff so its a bit of a slog to get it done. Nearly there though, get paid this Thursday so will buy the remaining bits i need and then finish it off on the weekend.
  19. I have connected up all the power now to my Prosport premium dials, look lovely but they wont bloody stop flashing. I tested hooking up the boost sensor but plugging it in doesnt make any difference, although the boost sensor has no boost to measure currently as my intercooler isnt on. Any ideas?
  20. Ok so been a busy monkey on the weekend, lots of updates to the build (on page 1), got the car running and drove it for the first time in ages, was lovely. Needs a bit more work, intercooler is to go on and a few bits and pieces, put in my new Prosport dials too! Hazzagray: Yeah i am sure he would do it for you
  21. Cars just about ready to go on the road and i need to get it MOT'd which is a pain sticking the CAT back on, out of curiosity has anyone ever passed the MOT emissions with a DECAT on?
  22. I have sold two in the last 6 months, got £90 for one and £70 for the other, depending on condition i would say anything from £50-£120 for a mint one
  23. lol i am with Idres on this, check the wiring on the knock sensor first (hes said 3 times to check!!), at the end of your fuel rail (on the left) its a single wire, it runs down to the sensor and is sat between your starter motor and alternator on the back of the engine. Probably worth while, pulling the plug off, clean it, clean the terminals on the plug then put it back on,
  24. Hey I know this information will come little to late to stripping your 4efte, but like you the exact same things happened when i was trying to get the head off mine for the first time. All i can say is that if you want to do work on the engine with the least amount of problems is get some decent tools, the money spent on this will save you loads in the future fudging stuff with tools that dont fit properly, exactly like i did with my dads old crap set! Best £99 i ever spent was getting the Halfords Advanced tool set, its got everything you will need for the whole starlet pritty much and its been a bloody god send fixing stuff, no more rounded bolts and shitting my self thinking i had stripped nuts and bolts! I think its on offer still for £99 reduced from £200, a worthwhile buy!
