  1. I've edited on numerous different desktops over the years and I think due to cost and ability to update later on the pc is a better choice. I used macs in college and they did the job fine with final cut however each desktop was over a grand and they did seem to freeze quite often when multiple programs were open. I don't really like that with apple you kinda get what you get when you buy any of their stuff. Once it's out of date you can't just change a few parts out with ease and it lasts another year.... They're both good but to be careful with costs and plan for the future I'd stick to win
  2. I didn't actually strip the whole interior it's just the stuff I took out to make it a little lighter. I sold the car with the dash etc still intact.

  4. Boom!! Cheers mate . If it's not clean I'll tell them Rob H said they would and give it back haha ;)
  5. It did cross my mind to do a blue or green like that but I think it will look girly on anything that doesn't look like a fighter jet lol.
  6. I have a 4efte head that I'm rebuilding with new seals and i'm going to get it skimmed etc before it all goes back together but whilst it's apart I want to clean it... What's the best way without getting a toothbrush out? I know of chemical dipping but not sure of prices? Will probably be toothbrush and brake cleaner at this rate
  7. Think its just going to have to be 040 guys. I'll be doing the door shuts etc anyway but you can still never be sure to get every single bit of the car in every tiny area and I want it to look perfect without going back and doing little bits in the future. I'll be painting the engine bay too when I change the clutch in the near future so might do that something a little different to make it stand out .
  8. You and your red haha I like the idea and would be cool to see but personally I think it's a horrible colour combination lol. I appreciate it's rareness but I don't like it haha . I have this thought too. Although it would be nice to be a little different. Gunmetal sounds nice. Not sure how it would look without it being a mica though. Just be dark grey I guess... And yeah you can come when I paint it if you like . Need to get a date yet but it will more than likely be next weekend. Will let you know .
  9. So the car is now near enough ready for paint and will be getting the big hit before jae hopefully! I primed the whole car apart from the front bumper because I ran out of time lol, and i have now flattened 90% of it. Just deciding on colour now . All flat no dents
  10. Also just to mention it has to be a solid color, no metallics or pearls etc because it all costs a fortune which I can't afford atm. Want to paint it before jae
  11. I've finally finished removing dents and scrapes from my mk1 gt and have always had the intention of spraying it in the original 040 white... but now that the prep is done and i'm ready for the colour I'm not too sure because I can literally do any colour I want lol. There are a few things that make me want to keep it white, used white primer incase paint chips on the front from stones over time it won't be as noticeable, it would be original colour, white is easy to work with.... But then I think gloss black would be sweet... Or a solid red or white with a tint of blue to make it look cold...
  12. Burger king is the winner by miles for me. I'd have a KFC over McDonald's but the staff at KFC are all fucking stupid minus one or two. It's like they deliberately look to employ dick heads lol. McDonald's service is perfect usually. That said how hard can it be to put some fries and a burger in a bag?
  13. I'll start a thread next month along with the new potm thread . Nothing to lose!
  14. I didn't go off topic? I said to replace the engine with another fte and sell the old unit to make some money back or keep it for a standard or forged rebuild in the future if he can afford to? I saw your post about buying two engines and mashing them together with bits and Bob bought from here and there but he said that he has a time limit as he uses the car for work. And in my opinion as a buyer if I went to view an originally turbo car that then had a none turbo engine in any way I'd be put off. Same applies with any car not just starlets and i'm sure a lot of people would agree with me. No
  15. Calm down mate lol. Overall as a standard engine the fe is weaker. The compression is higher and the valve sprigs can't hold much boost so unless you build a hybrid it doesn't make any sense to me and if he had time to build a hybrid he'd have time to just rebuild his current fte? Yes an fe will work and get you about for a bit but it has so many cons to pros that it's not worth it in my opinion. It's an engine from a lower model which is basically downgrading, it's not as capable with bigger power unless you strip it down and start changing bits and after all your hard work getting it back to
  16. I know you're a fan of the fe . But it makes no sense to me to buy one and spend the time swapping everything over to fit a weaker less capable engine than the standard one, just to get you by for a few weeks. He's only going to have to take it out again when he gets an fte and then he'll be left with an fe after doing all the work again.
  17. If you don't have much money to spare and or a tight deadline to have it done then just get a used replacement 4efte and drop it straight in... In an ideal world we could all afford a forged lump and machine shops would do it in a realistic turn over of an engine a day but unfortunately metal is over priced and so is labour for putting them together. On the other hand a 4efe lump isn't going to last very long imo not to mention you'll have to change the wiring loom and ecu etc? I personally would replace the engine and consider selling the old one to make some money back or keep it to rebuil
  18. Anyone have any idea what power it's running? Looked decent
  19. You could probably crop that photo quite nicely to be fair
  20. So comfortable and relaxing inside. And that boot haha. Mobile house. Love it!
  21. It could be something as little as a 30 second clip driving on your favorite road or just a few clips put together of your whip lol. Doesn't have to be anything amazing to enter
  22. I've just had another idea to try and encourage people into this idea.... Like we have done in the past with picture of the month (calender) I thought maybe we can offer something at the end of the year for video of the month.... For every video clip that wins I will make an official ukso end of year video. I will try and use clips that don't win too, as well as a production of some kind off my own back to tie it all together... Would love to see some more video action from you guys and girls!
