Bc coilover refurb ( broken damper adjuster)
_shaun_ replied to _shaun_'s topic in Chassis & Suspension
Not exactly sure what part am after to be honest. The small adjuster knob and stem is intact it just spins freely so I assume it's the socket style part on the inside -
Recently had my car set up professionally and they discovered the knob to adjust the driver side rear coilovers just spins freely. It still handles superbly but they've said If I can get that fixed they can dial it in a lot more! Any ideas It these can be refurbed in the U.K. or ad a diy job? Or am I better just Buying a new set of coilovers? Cheers shaun

first time I was there aswell my car was all over the place above kinda 80 and absolute suicide under boost. Got recommended to go to him guy was brand new spent ages talking to him about all sorts of aspects of the car seemed to really no his stuff. Told me i could get a lot better handling if I changed a few things round but it's handling fantastic right now could barely drive at 100 before it went in sat comfy at 140 down the motorway on the way home so going to make the changes he suggested and see just how far he can push the handling, would recommend him to anyone now to be honest

hmm what sorta cash are you after with the tyres? am just after a nice set for track/drag days as my current wheels i have to run some strech which isnt ideal! -
hey mate welcome along. theres a fair few us us from around your way mainly in turbo versions. with regards to parts the forum is a great source all my service parts generaly come from idworkz. if you your budget strectches coilovers are better for handling although sligthly harsher ride unless you go for miester R's sway bars, anti lift kits and poly bush items are all easy to get ahold of again normaly if you give id-workz a shout and say i want a full handling package they would try do you a good deal. 2nd hand parts jdm-ep is quite new some prices can be slightly over the odds

any idea if these would fit k sports under them? -
the glanza boot lid has 2 kinda rivet style studs and a hole for a bolt on each side for the spoiler and the livesports one has the matching bits so it slides onto the riveted studs and then the bolt locks it in place. if you want it oem fitment best bet is buy a glanza boot lid if not its probaly going to be a sealant job

its pretty impressive how well oganised these can be to be honest seen a few programs on it and the chain of people involved are massive and cars from spoted-stolen-trackers found and removed - loaded in containers and shipped abroad to be sold is something mental like 30hours. one of the programs the guy was an ex IT tech that had taken up finding and disabling scanners for a gang and he showed how easy it was he pretty much got a text with gps coords of the car went and disabled the tracker and his "fee" was left in the glove box. said he knew he was part of a big team but he didnt no how t

controlling the set up that way would be extremely hard one is always going to be working more than the other but to stop them fighting each other best fix would be 2 1 way valves
-
so is the down pipe from turbo one fed into turbo 2 then? i

valve stem seals without removing head.
_shaun_ replied to _shaun_'s topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
i ended up trying that tool out on my spare head its actualy superb to be honest. i just blocked all the valves on the bottom and poped off all 16 retainers in mabye 2 minutes tops. then poped the collets back into the retainers and lined them up and re fitted them in the same time. was abit skeptical it would be worth the month but gonna save alot of time dicking around i think. -

turbosmart ultragate 38mm wastegate springs
_shaun_ replied to starletburkie's topic in Intake, Turbo & Exhaust
i have a ebay jobby fitted to mine now. i just measured the turbo smart spring and emailed a company asking if they had any 1.2 bar springs with a diameter of blah blah -
really need 2 to be honest with one wastegate you run a very likely risk of just overspooling one turbo and being left with a lazy one
