  1. most people would say 16" are to big on a starlet. 17"s is just a no go area on the starlet scene to be honest
  2. if you do a search there should be a thread on it. ive seen a few threads where some idoits cut that plug of rather than pay £2 for the iso lead. sure from memory some boy took his out to relise it was all just bullet connectors and then posted up a diagram he was sent of what they all do.
  3. to much fuel seems like a reason for nitrous! but yea on a serious note mine maxs out the gauge on over run and bangs flames out the side. under boost all goes to normal. been like that for over a year now since i had it mapped on the gt28 and i give it absolute death every chance managed to kill 3 tanks of fuel on saturday alone. i wouldnt worrie to much just avoid over run and idling the engine and get it mapped asap
  4. Not really gave it much abuse I done new clutch and gearbox at same time only driven it town driving for 20-30mins rest I was on gear hammering down the B roads but no hard launches yet. Had my fair share of paddles and its one of the nicer ones to drive that said it's still pretty much like a on off switch there's no gently does it
  5. aye its the rattle version sounds like your release bearign is about to explode when ever u put the clutch down ha
  6. no idea on a starlet but one of my mates is into his vag stuff. he had some bother with his as intake temps where 48degrees and the ecu was starting to retard the timing he then moved onto a custom cooler and dropped it down to 37degrees they managed to squeeze 18bhp extra out the car thats on a 2l so id assume our tempts should be lower
  7. aye as above sounds like its wrong size so its likely fucked all the studs. although its probaly irrelavent on our wee starlet engines and ive never actualy confirmed this i was always advised not fit stainless steel bolts on to exhaust studs as they expand more than mild steel when heated so would actualy loosen up and be more likely to come off that sticking with the stock oem bolts.
  8. just fitted mine at the weekend you wont be disappointed!
  9. good to see you got the car mate. sure selling some of the mods as you put it back to stock will result in it being an absolute steal!
  10. to add hes an absolute gent i lost a bolt of my gt28 messaged him asking if he new size/pitch and just asked my adress and fired me a set of bolts in the post. really apperaciated mate
  11. wasnt sure if they would suit the car but actualy think it completes the car minus a wee charger!
  12. I run 2mm spacers on mine just for some peace of mind my d2s are extremely close to day the least
  13. super fresh i hope to be able to take this time and attention in the bay next year once its all running mechanicaly bang on!
  14. there bascily the same as k-sports there no modification but finding wheels to fit isnt the easist task.
  15. id spoke to jezza awhile ago about them but he said the main issue was the cost in getting them made.
  16. ive had wms brakes and i have d2 brakes now. fitment wise wms brakes are far nicely and wheel choose friendly. d2s look more assteticaly pleasing tho. wilwoods are another great upgrade but replacement parts seem to be abit of a bother to get. you could always go for the levin upgrade if you wanted to be more cost effective.
  17. i stick with magnecor never had any issues. i have a set of ngk ones in the house and there just as thin as the stock ones sure they would do ok day today but for the extra price id rather get the meaty magnecor ones.
  18. Mines held in the same way as mickeys 2 long threaded bars it's rock solid never had any bother with it
  19. yea the likely hood is there just derived from a requirement in some countrys to run mph. id expect most japs to be running homemade sld chips as aposed to buying the expenisve hks ones ha. £25 quids a good price see some silly prices when a few people want them and not many are for sale.
  20. its a basic mechaincal gear set so prob just anywhere that makes them ive seen a few different designs on them not sure why japan would want to change the cars to mph tho. to clear this up inside the gear box is a worm drive which is connected to the speedo via the speedo cable ( dun dun dun) this gives your speedo the mechanical movement to work and there is a small pulse generator attached which then sends a signal down to the ecu to say what speed your doing. it effectively moves ecus speed limit to 180mph as dan has said. the other option is using the HKS SLD or the likes of a piggy back
  21. you escape with out any other damage? thats dam lucky! need to give it death and see what happens
  22. Am on my 5th starlet now ha! Few ups and downs with them then had to buy a house and then got another white glanza should make decent power this year all going well.
  23. I have one sitting you can have for a tenner posted sure the sensors have been removed already tho
