Should hopefully be getting the wheels in motion this weekend the way things are panning out. Should have most of the engine bay stripped, all being well.
-
Cheers Dan, don't think I'm going go down the coilover route. I've heard it absolutely ruins the comfort. A nice set of Jap wheel will be purchased though. Thanks mate! Cheers dude, I keep forgetting how big it is and try to squeeze through gaps the EP would go though lol.

It is indeed buddy, a big comfy bus. It's like driving an arm chair lol. Cheers dude!

Is your wagon coming?
-
Yeah, the have golf accessories in there too matey. I am looking forward to building her up again, I haven't really been up to much over these last weekends, so I need to be more productive. Can't see this one going turbo Phil, as much as I would want too, I can't stretch the funds far enough for a forged build. Cheers dude!

Glad to see your still working away on this Phil. Nightmare about the shock, but I may know of a set of Tein's & KYB's for sale.

Due to recently acquiring a new daily drive, the EP has unfortunately taken a back seat. I recently joined the LOC (Lexus owners Club), but it is definitely not the scene for me (£50 pens in the club store). With not having to rely on the EP to get me to work and back, I can work on her at a leisurely pace. All being well, my full engine rebuild kit will be ordered up Monday week. All genuine pump, rings, seals, bearings & every nut & bolt in the engine bay WILL be replaced. Surprisingly this is only going to cost me around £200 which is definitely worth doing. On top of that, the engine bay will be completely stripped back, smoothed and painted. Which color, I haven't decided yet, but the options have been narrowed down to: 1. Toyota 8K9 (standard colour) 2. House of Kolor metallic orange 3. House of Kolor midnight purple As for the rest of the engine bay, the block & head will both be powder coated (heat resistant stuff) along with the gear box. I have plans for more ITB's bigger, better and improved with some awesome velocity stacks. I will be running higher compression than before (0.5mm Head gasket) and also have one further trick up my sleave for more power and to run all of this, MS3. Back to cosmetics again, I have a polished race spec rocker cover in the making. An aluminum full sized radiator will be purchased. I hope to have some custom metal fabrication done too, in the way of an expansion tank & PAS fluid tank. I have plans for both of these to utilise TOM's radiator caps I have. To finish of the engine bay, I will be running S/S fuel hoses and my current kit of silicone hoses will be cleaned up well. I have no major plans for the interior at this stage, but I do have a set of TRD Defi gauges & controller on the way from the motherland. I have received a very good offer for these so, I can't make any promises that they will end up in this EP. On to chassis & suspension. I plan the strip all the running gear down and replace any seals with OEM ones. The chassis itself will be cleaned & waxoiled for good measure. All the suspension bushing, included g/box & engine mounts will receive the polybush treatment. As for the fuel tank, axle, wishbones, ARB's etc will be bead blasted and powder coated. ETA for this - 2nd week of August.

Nice updates mate and good to see more BHP on the dyno, always a plus!

Machining aluminum, I guess using a CNC Lathe?

Carried out a service on this yesterday. Done the following. 1. 6 liters of castrol magnatech 3w30 2. OEM Oil Filter 3. OEM Fuel Filter 4. OEM Pollen Filter 5. OEM Air Filter 6. Mazda Long Life Coolant (free through work) 7. OEM Front Discs & Pads 8. OEM Rear Discs & Pads 9. Brake Fluid Change Also got the centers of the discs powdercoated to prevent surface rust. When I put the car on the ramp the O/S/R shock started leaking badly, so that needs done. Only thing that worries me is the price, close to £700 for two rear shocks. Meister's may be on the cards...

Myself and greenmachine will be making the journey over this year, either my wagon (if it's ready) or his.

That's just destroyed your credit score mate, everytime you get a quote it does a credit search.

I was supposed to be organising the stand this year for TGTT/UKSO, but I've been side tracked with a new job and to be honest it has just slipped through the net. I wont be showing the car as it is current sorned (again).
-
Back to the drawing board. The wheels i was after are discontinued.

Welcome to UKSO, great to see more local members coming aboard!

Looking to buy a set of buddy club P1 plus in 17's or 18's, but can only find them in 19's. Any suggestions?
-
Cheers Chris! No can do Billy, was having a gander at the TOM'S lip kit last night...
-
Cheers guys, thinking gold or maybe gun metal grey. Not sure yet.

Decided it was about time to pick up a new daily, as the starlet has now been retired to the garage for some much needed TLC. I wanted something comfortable as there isn't much left of my spine after driving the EP for 3+ years. Here's a few photos. Not loving the 16" wheels, so will be changing them soon enough. Don't really have much plans for it at the moment, just a case of driving it and enjoying it.

Think I'm going for some buddy clubs, gun metal with polished lip.
-
The remus one is over £300 though.
