  1. A big purple knob. Shiney! Bit of spit and a polish I bet it will be throbbing! Couldn't help it lol
  2. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_C_transmission#section_2 The C56 is the box fitted to a Glanza 0.815 5th gear ratio 4.312 Final drive ratio The C60 is the 6 speed box 0.725 6th gear ratio 4.529 Final drive Using this calculator: http://www.teammfactory.com/gearcalculator.php?kmh=0&tirewidth=195&tireprofile=55&wheelsize=15&tirediameter1=23.44&maxrpm1=7500&finaldrive1=4.312&gearratio1=3.23&gearratio2=2.105&gearratio3=1.458&gearratio4=1.107&gearratio5=0.815&gearratio6=0&trannytype=&tirewidth2=195&tireprofile2=55&wheelsize2=15&tirediameter2=23.44&maxrpm2=7500&finaldrive2=4.529&gearratioa=3.23&gearratiob=2.105&gearratioc=1.458&gearratiod=1.107&gearratioe=0.725&gearratiof=0&trannytype=&tranny=Calculate+Transmission+1+%26+2 the 6th gear is slightly longer, only a smidgen. Say your cruising at 80mph with the 5 speed box, on 15s in 5th with 195x55 tyres you will be cruising at around 3950RPM. At 80mph with the 6 speed box again on 15s in 6th with 195x55 tyre you will be cruising at around 3650RPM. Not a bad little difference. But then with the tiny 1st couple of gears in the 6 speed box is it going to drive you mental shifting all the time lol although 2nd gear launches would be reasonable
  3. EDIT: Have no idea how my post got here :S
  4. Theres a detailed spec on here somewhere (I'll search later) but the final gear on the 6 speed box is almost identical to that on the 5 speed box. You get no added cruising benefits just a shorter stack from 1st through to 5th.
  5. S15 Spec S's are, essentially theyre just a rebodied S14 with a 5 speed box and no tubby. 150bhp etc etc. The Autech S15s came with a smidge over 200bhp, R33GTR front brakes, R34 rear brakes, the 6 speed box from the Spec R and a slippy diff... Basically they have everything the Spec R has bar a turbo! Just VVT and a high compression ratio
  6. I have a TERRIBLE internet connection and no room to upgrade. Sooooo see you later next gen consoles
  7. I need to really! Looking at a posh barge to be honest to blend on the work car park . Currently there are 3 guys that work below me that outsnob me considerably! A 911 Carrera 4S, a Boxter S and a TVR Cerbera (sounds like thunder! lol).
  8. My bad! Oops :-P
  9. I'm sure that was for sale a while back for a ridiculous price! Glanzas are infiltrating America
  10. Gonna give them a few years until they are down to 10k! It was the GT86 that got me thinking of the Autech S15! Revvy 2 litre 200bhp petrol engine, RWD, similar weights, 6 speed box... Arguably as good looking/better looking
  11. As far as I'm aware no one has tested one to destruction yet! But the sensible limit seems to have been agreed upon of around 250bhp :-P
  12. I've been watching that like a hawk lol the misses says I need to be rid of 2 of my current cars and with a diesel barge on the drive before I can buy a beast lol damn it. Otherwise I'd be bidding on that now!
  13. Now that is some serious praise! Might have to properly hunt one down.
  14. Meh. I went to them to have a Zisco mani fitted to my old V and to buy an air filter relocation kit off them. A 'Drift' filter and my manifold hanging off 100 miles later left me a little disappointed to be honest. EDIT: this was after being told and them advertising it as coming with a Green filter.
  15. I'm willing to wait and I have my sources for rare lil beasts lol seriously been tempted by one!
  16. Drove a friends S2000 a few weeks back, really nice car, cracking engine, but the back end doesn't half let go with a boom! I thought my Altezza was twitchy how I had my coilovers set up but my god that thing let go in a hurry lol
  17. I've been swinging towards an ST205 myself tbh. That or the Mazda GTR! (Size weight and tweak ability appeal massively!) The skyline non GTRs are off the list mainly because IMO you may aswell buy an S body with an RB20DET. GTRs mainly down to price and running costs. S15 Autech has had some cracking reviews! And even after import costs etc I'm pretty certain I could get one in and road legal for sub £6k, uk importers mark them up massively when they arrive simply due to the fact that there aren't many of them over here. Parts for the mazda GTR are easier to get hold of than I initially thought, an exhaust, boost controller and decat can see them on their way to a reliable 300bhp :-) and they weigh as much as a sock. AE86s are off the list, I already have a mentally clean 1985 Civic GT (1 of 3 left on the road) as my investment beast and another classic might bankrupt me lol Ideally as stated I'd prefer a RWD/4WD, turbo or NA, I've converted NA cars to some boosted loving before so even if I did get bored I could always slap a turbo on the bugger. Cheers for the advice so far guys! Loving the 1st hand experience too! EDIT: I like to push a car a bit around the corners, an MR2 would more than likely leave me backwards in a ditch lol
  18. The weight/price of the supra puts me off tbh! Always wanted one but I think the pure size of the thing would get on my tits after a while, I'm a bigger fan of back road hooning than motorway blasting :-P Skylines are expensiveeee for a decent one, and expensive to keep on the road by all accounts! Lol
  19. They are, the 6th gear is about as long as a standard Vs 5th, so quicker acceleration yes, same revs at motorway speeds :-(
  20. Right, I'm thinking of selling my glanza and the proton and buying a derve daily and something different for the weekend... So far and yet to drive on the shortlist I have: A Mazda 323 GTR A Pulsar GTI (but the bonnet scoop and chocolate box put me off) An ST205 Celica GT4 Importing an Autech S15 (I like the idea of a rwd 200bhp NA) Possibly an RX7 but the wankel and fuel put me off Preferably I'd want something different (no scoobs/evos) pretty damn quick but more importantly grippy enough for B road hooning. I've had BMWs, Altezzas (much preferred to the Beemer!), integra DC2s etc This time I'd like either 4 or rwd. Any ideas on what I could have missed?
