100k is nothing really, you got good compression but something more accurate to do would be a leakdown test. I don't see no reason why you couldn't run a td04 if you wanted to. I got a 5E complete engine with head etc Sat here it your interested mate, drop me a pm might be able to work something out

I wouldn't say you need to run big boost but the idea behind it is that the cooler the charge the more power and this comes about by increasing the ignition advance which needs some form of management. Preferably the way I would have it set up is that when a target boost pressure is reached it would activate the injection. Sadly this can be quite a costly way of doing it. What's your setup now and how many miles it done? I know it sounds silly but having a larger turbo actually puts less stress on the engine because it's more efficient and therefore the intake charge is cooler.

Plug and play ecu's like to run base fuel pressure 2.4 bar and they just adjust the injector opening time accordingly.

It depends what kit you want to buy mate really as some can be quite expensive. Its just used to cool the intake air charge so that more ignition advance can be added, or if your running your turbo out if its efficiency range then you can use it to gain more efficency. Also you have have the decision of where to place the jet or run multiple jets. It can end up getting quite expensive tbh, and you really need aftermarket management to make the most of it, otherwise you won't really gain much power at all just a bit of a safety factor. I got an old cheapo kit sat here that I used on an engi

The 1.6 engine revs better and like Shorty said it takes boost better as well. You can easily get more power out of them as well by advancing the ignition timing around 4 degrees. They do rust like a bitch though so they are quite hard to find and you will pay a bit extra for one thats in good condition. Get yourself over on mx5nutz and theres all you need to know on there

75w90 any good brand like fuchs/silkolene, redline, motul etc.

To put it bluntly your a prick! Try searching the rest of the forum using the keyword "insurance" and you may understand the flaming your about to get. You wanna be careful that no one phones the police, gives them your reg and your car gets towed away for having no insurance.

Just to add my 5E has a harmonic damper pulley on it as well, so I'm guessing pulleys changed based on the year the engine was produced, probably to do with costs.

£2500 for a facelift CTR, I'd bite his hand off lol.

Not every particle of fluid sits in the rail until the injector opens, it still gets pushed round the system, but I understand what your saying and that applies to where ever you position the regulator. I ment providing your reasonable with the return line it won't make a dramatic effect therefore not worth worrying about, the feed line I believe to be of more importance in getting the correct sizing.

Just to add I will split the rails from the seats if anyone is interested in the rails on their own.

It pays to be honest

Nah mate its my daily and I don't wanna turn it into a project car just wanna get it sorted, and I don't fancy ruining the exhaust system either so I've just left it as it is. Thanks anyway though. Hmm don't really wanna have to fuck about with it tbh mate, just wanna leave the car as it is, although would like a bit more noise lol. Ah I see, what a ballache lol.

The system I have is only a 2 piece mate, front all the way to the back then the backbox separate. Since the cat is in the downpipe in both N/A and turbo I thought they exited at the same place?
-
I'm just about to head back down there mate, but I think that the pipe isn't long enough to reach the cat. I thought N/A and turbo cats exited in the same position so bit confused as to why it don't fit.
-
My N/A is at the garage at the moment having a new exhaust fitted, I bought a Glanza exhaust to go on my N/A but the garage is saying it won't fit? Now I didn't think there was any different between N/A and turbo exhaust systems, only different I thought was the backbox hangers between EP82 and EP91. Apparently its at the cat/downpipe section that won't fit? Anyone shed any light on this? Thanks Adam

Yes mate still here, will pm you now

I wouldn't worry about the size of the return line. I would dead head the fuel rail as well personally, meaning put the fpr on the pressure side as this keeps the fuel cooler and keeps octane high.

Overfuelling, whats your setup?

Stay away from Sealey, I got one used it once and never again. Just doesn't feel like a quality product and just doesn't seem to wanna click even though I know I've gone past the torque setting. Teng are good or Halfords. No need to spend stupid amounts if its only going to see little use.
