  1. If it was me I would have a backdoor entry/exit intercooler with very short route lengths. I would use a Full Race/Garrett/Precision core as these are all known to be some of the most efficienct on the market.
  2. Is this engine still on the stock cylinders? Then yeah I would always advise going oversized on the pistons so that you have a fresh bore thats well within tolerence, if sticking to the 74mm bore then it can be hard and will be quite a sloppy bore. If its a 4E then I would go with the 75mm pistons to help bump the compression ratio up as theres only so much you can do with head skimming before you run into piston-valve contact. If its a 5E stick with a 74.5mm piston because if something happens to the block you can oversized again without scrapping a rare block.
  3. See a GT Advance with what looked like black team dynamics wheels, reg plate was K98 CHB. Anyone on here? I parked my N/A 2 spaces along but was gone by the time I left.
  4. You have to port the wastegate, go external wastegate or turn the boost down lower.
  5. You'll have to remove the decat and have a look at the penny and the port. I don't have any pics, but someone will probably have a pic of a stock vs ported wastegate port to show the difference.
  6. I've got STRI oil pressure and temp gauge mate. Also got an SSQV1 but not in the best condition with it flaking paint, but works and doesn't leak. Drop me a pm and I'll sort out some pics.
  7. I didn't think the offset had anything to do with the brackets, I thought the offset was the distance between the edge of the disc and the bell mounting point? Although I do agree that the bracket may need to be milled depending on the thickness of the disc your using to get the correct spacing.

    Fto any good?

There certainly not as quick as they look lol.
  9. Always worth a try swapping it over, doesn't take long to do. I guess if its creeping still the wastegate hasn't been ported which makes it a pretty pish hybrid imo.
  10. Use Hi-Spec discs and use one of these brackets, you will have to drill and tap some holes to suit though. http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=universal+caliper+mount&x=0&y=0&osCsid=3adjeggbal5a7gd4vl333plue6 Don't forget you will also need mounting bells for the discs as well.
  11. If its ran low on oil I would be very careful, if its overheated the crank there may well be a chance the big ends of the rods are out of ovality tolerence, so could end up being a complete rebuild really.
  12. Its hit and miss really, it depends how you like your car to react, a stiffer front end will encourage understeer, whereas a stiffer real will encourage oversteer. Some cars actually perform better without a FARB at all.
  13. Double sided tape is the what most cars use these days, I know new BMW's use this way now.

    Quad lights.

I got a set in white mate?
  15. Just annoying seeing the same threads go up every week, its why TGTT has gone dead because people have understood how to use the search bar lol.
  16. Yes it does and you get new bushes and brackets, basically a whole fitting kit as well as the bar
  17. I don't see the problem with it, a component that the builder could supply also has the potential to be faulty, and its not uncommon for new OEM components to be faulty either. Lets face it, I highly doubt any trader has all the components under a microscope to check the material structure and look for stress raisers, whether they supplied the components or not. They expect the components to work as intended just as if me or you bought a component.
  18. Have you had the core pressure tested to check if its actually leaking? No point going out and spending £200 or so on a core if one of the silicone £5 joiners has a split in it.
  19. Evo 8 core, or look at the Garrett/Precision cores and just adjust your piping to suit, the Garrett cores are some of the best on the market.
  20. Sorry Mark I haven't recieved any notifications on pm's, I'll get back to you now. Cheers Chris and Micky
  21. Go and have a browse at Borg Warners EFR series turbo's dude.
  22. The guy asked wether you can use a BOV instead of a wastegate and you all go jumping on the topgear bandwagon shit. I'm just expressing my knowledge and opinion, maybe if people researched the methods used in the past which quite frank work and are still in use today you wouldn't all be wasting money on things you don't need.
  23. I just said that the BOV's are modified with stiffer springs, and are generally used in conjunction with a solenoid valve. Besides the only reason you use an external wastegate is because the turbo is poorly designed.
