Not at all a poor way of controlling boost pressure, there are still many people that use this method because its cheaper, simpler, accurate and responsive. The BOV's are modified with the use of much stiffer springs, some even utilise a twin BOV arrangement. The only downside is that those using air flow meters, may upset the AFR's if routing back into the inlet as the incoming air has already been accounted for. Some people have numerous trophies to back up this system, so it works well enough. But hey thats the world we live in where external wastegates are considered the best thing sinc

Technically they are the same and you can use a BOV as a means of controlling boost pressure, look back a few years to the frenzy turbo era of rally engines and you will find they used a BOV to control boost pressure on the compressor side of the turbo.

Ah dear Matty Personally I would get that throttle body off asap, if the plate screw falls out thats going to make a mess

5efhe---->5efhte project(oem ct9 build)

That compression ratio is still higher than a stock 4E and the tmic suffers heat soak real bad on that. I probably wouldn't run anymore than 0.6 bar on the ct9 as it wouldn't be long after that efficiency goes out the window and turns into a hairdryer. Are you staying with the stock 4efte ecu? Or have you got any other management? -

Personally I wouldn't bother using the ct9 as its too small for the 5E, td04 would be the minimum really. Also use a fmic as the extra heat from the higher compression will lead to problems of detonation. -
Well believable one the right set of tires, turbo setup and the right powerband.

Check the wiki section mate, there's a 200bhp guide in there that will tell you everything you need to know

Its to save carrying around dead weight, bit of a pain in the ass with all this eco crap going on.

A lot of people seem to use prosport and like them, think some of the early ones had problems but don't hold me to that.
-
I wouldn't worry about that, just go for a well named brand that are reliable and prove accurate, something like defi, stri, stack, prosport etc. If the brand your looking at only offer digital then so be it.

I've seen sets of 4 up for around the £750-800 mark, could say roughly £200 a wheel.

Does anyone write CV's for a Job or work in recruitment?
AdamB replied to Chris Green's topic in Off Topic
It's a bit of a catch 22 situation to be in, always is when trying to start off in a career. Just a case of finding someone who's willing to give you a try mate. Have you tried approaching the companies you want to work for and asking them what you need to get in? No point wasting your time doing something that you don't need to get your foot in the door like. -
You'll prob make about 285bhp. All these stages of engine make me laugh, there's no reason why a so called " stage 2 " motor can't make 350bhp safely and reliably, after that you'll start encountering restrictions in the cylinder head, stock throttle body and possibly even the inlet manifold.

If your going to be applying for different jobs, then adjust your CV/ covering letter accordingly to suit each company, ie what they look for in a person. It shows that you've put the time and effort in into researching them and sells yourself as to what they are looking for. It's a right pain in the ass, been there myself but that's the way I always got taught at uni. -
Get the lube ready lol.
-
If the spring isn't seated and left loose on the rings/collars that is dangerous.
-
It's not the spring that lowers the ride height on coilovers, its the threaded shock body. Also adjusting the locking rings the spring sits on is dangerous and adjust the spring pre-load so ride height adjustment shouldn't be made from here.

Even better if they got a twin sister

Ecu's tend to be programmed with some form of compensation, so your able to get away with a few mods before going over the boundary. But as Russ said, another factor to consider is the cost, no one wants to be paying for a remap every time they change a small component.

Yeah I think that's who it was. Anyone buys it and repairs it deserves a slap, would be so unsafe to put back on the road, not exactly the best to begin with in terms of safety lol.
