  1. cheers charl, was going to say can you put up your graph please also can you put up the one from race tech where it was lean but made more power.
  2. nice march, plus it must be road legal to compete in road rallies? and i spy a cheeky reg plate on the bonnet.
  3. weyro is only using a bar of boost. hence why i say 13. 1.4 bar i would say be more like 12. i dont map cars. im a mechanic, and have been for 11 years. 1.4 bar is different. the inlet temps will be too high so you will need to put more fuel in to help cool down the cylinder temps. hence why when people start running over a bar they look into things like water injection or water meth injection to cool down the cylinder temps. also wether its n/a or turbo afr is afr. if you put 14.7 litres of air in the engine expect to put 1 litre of fuel in with it. either way its up to weyro what he wants
  4. Its part of the foam bump stop. That's the part you need.
  5. Wether its n/a or forced induction it doesn't matter. Afr is the same on both engines.
  6. Either way too lean (anything more than 14.7afr) and you run the risk of overheating the cylinders, burning valves out and melting electrodes on the spark Plugs. Not to mention blowing a rather large hole in the piston. At around 13 afr (the reason why I said if your going to be doing it yourself) you are not massively rich and you are on the right side of lambda 1. Anything more than 14.7 afr on boost and you run the risk of killing your motor.
  7. That's way too rich. Your going to give yourselves bore wash. Plus your sacrificing power. Perfect afr where everything is burnt is 14.7 parts air to 1 part fuel. This is also known as lambda 1. Too much fuel will rinse the bores of oil and wear the rings a lot quicker. Then when the fuel gets into your oil and sump it will reduce the protective properties of the oil and cause engine damage without regular servicing. Afr also gives you an idea of cylinder bore temp. If you have unburnt fuel the excess fuel removes heat from the bores. But this can also cause bore wash. Less unburnt fuel will r
  8. Yea you can get it somewhere close to what it needs to be. Idle wants to be around 14.7 on boost wants to be about 13. Just to be safe. Funny onion has been doing loads of research on the matter and richer isn't really better.
  9. Yea I would have thought so too. When I'm back at work I'll get a pic of the instructions. I'm sure it says "do not soak"
  10. One day Adam......... Decided to wait another month to get the starlet on the road. Seems pointless cancelling my insurance with a month to go. Plus I'll have a cheaper quote with 7 years NCB.
  11. yup specifically says it on the packaging. il see if i can find a pic of it somewhere.
  12. theres a coolant block drain behind the manifold. a 14mm i believe. may be worth draining that too.
  13. Motorbike reg plate and double
  14. This one is a N/A Adam. Also they look like leads from a fte? They will stretch like that as the distributor on a N/A Is much bulkier. It has the coil inside the distributor itself.
  15. I use thermotec copper impregnated wrap at work. Use it on the wagons going to afgan. According the the packaging it increases scavenging in the cylinders by preventing the gas from cooling down and therfore slowing down. I can second that when fitting this stuff its itchy as hell and not nice stuff to work with. Also don't soak the wrap, it will go brittle when its cured and snap. Also best to use lock wire to secure it at equal intervals. One of the cons Is its expensive, one of the pro's it works. Probably better for N/A engines or wrapping after the turbo. The turbine in the turbo will
  16. The sender is under the back seat. Your better removing it with a near empty tank of fuel. You will need a 8mm socket and ratchet to remove it. And the whole picking up crap from the bottom of the tank........ The fuel pump is at the bottom of the tank. It has a gauze on it to prevent any debris being picked up by the pump.
  17. Ryan, nope not yet anywho And Dan we will see. Not a lot to give it away as being a td04. Its pulling really well with the td04. The profec b ups the boost to 0.8bar or around 11psi. The LSD also helps out a lot in the wet.
  18. yea i was thinking the same to be honest. plus this gives me time to get a few more parts ordered for her
  19. hell yea zoe. the turbo is now fitted and i have no smoke! awesome! the thing is now though i need to get the thing insured and taxed. now this is the tricky bit. do i insure it this month or do i wait till next month when i will have 7 yrs no claims instead of the six i have now? really want to get her on the road asap but the insurance will be more and im going to feel the pinch this month if i have to lay out the deposit and the tax.
  20. M10x1.25 bud. Also known as metric fine.
  21. Yup 1.8bar. Its turned down now to 1.4. Or it was when I drove it.
  22. cheers for the comments guys. yea sky insurance are really good. i was impressed how quickly they gave me the quotes and how genuine they were with me. much respect for them guys. well a little update, ive got myself another turbo on the way, came of a 2006 wrx with 60k on the clock. apparently the guy has got a vf35 fitted now by roger clark motorsport. they have checked the turbo over completely and it is well within its tolerances. paid 85 quid for it and hopefully should be here tomorrow or saturday. also my driveshaft oil seal will be here on saturday too. exciting times! im off work no
  23. lol ive seen the vid with you adam and lottie. whats with the stealth bumming? lol. and adam strokes my beard when i have one, does that count? :harhar:
