That a P20 exhaust housing i take it ? What power did it make ?
-
Thought someone one here would have bought it already haha. Cant be many left in such good condition.

Thats good news. Decide what you want to use the car for and pick a turbo to suit. Reason i like the subaru TD / VF flanged manifolds is because you can swap and change turbos easily and most are fairly available and inexpensive. Could have anything from a TF035 right up to a VF22 and most things inbetween. They even do GT28 with a TD / VF flange nowadays. Altough youd be at the mappers a lot haha.

Yeah id assume journal aswell, had just read folk saying roller on a couple threads on Subaru forums. Its not a huge turbo anyway so spool isnt an issue

Taking offers, i know the broken bits are putting people off lol. Collection preferred thanks.

Think Id Workz do em ?

The normal TD05 16G are ment to be fairly laggy, ive never ran one so couldnt say how bad, set it up with a good EBC, short IC pipes, heatwrapped system etc and it should bring spool times down a tad. They can be pushed to about 1.6 bar maybe more so should see well over 320 bhp on a good setup. Can also go for 18G which has a bigger compressor housing, or a 20G which is bigger again. What are you building the car for ? Have a look at the VF series turbos, a lot of them have ball bearings which are quicker spooling and can still make great power. Turbos like the VF24 & VF35 are suited qui

To run a TD05 on a starlet it has to be a subaru TD05 do the flanges are correct for the manifolds that are available. Unless you are meaning the new twin-scroll kits that Race-Tech do.

Well in Ben ;)

If its really really loud then maybe by some replacement injectors, can find used uprated ones in the for sale section normally for pretty cheap. The standard ones will be quite old by now.
-
Probably just the injectors, they do normally make a ticking noise. Shouldnt be anything to worry about

Fancy a spare lol ?

According to Legacy forums the VF8,10,11 & 12 were all roller bearing. Whether thats the case or not im not sure. Its probably a journal bearing tbh, had just seen roller mentioned a couple of times Do you run a 10 Colin ?
-
Forgot to say its a direct replacement for TD04 / TF035 etc. Uses the same flanges.

Brilliant idea haha -
Item For Sale: VF10 Turbo Item Condition & Description: Was sold to me in good working order (apart from damage see pics) This turbo is from an old single turbo Subaru Legacy, its a similar size to a TD04 and uses a P15 exhaust housing so should make similar power. Its been welded for EWG and rotated for a top mount setup. It can very easily be rotated back as its held together by bolts not a circlip like a TD04. As with all these old turbos there is some minor shaft play. There is some damage to the flange area where the bolts must have been overtightened previously, this doesnt look

In the last pic that vac line and 1 way valve goes from the inlet to the servo, id keep that the brakes are hopeless without it. You can shorten it down a bit to make it neater though I dont know thats how i didnt say either or. I know the Gen3 is different. -
I will try and make it 21. Daniel_g

Block them off. You shouldnt get idle issues if done correctly. And yes the Gen1 N/a FPR is the same as the turbo. -

Havent dyno'd it yet as it isnt on the road. Literally no idea what it will be maybe 220. Is it defo a Gen1 engine you are getting ? They can handle boost well yeah. -

The lines are and valves are for the carbon canister i think man. Gen1 N/a engine should work well. C.R is 9.6 - 1 so dont run too much boost. Got a turbo'd one myself 0.6bar on a VF12, although im not finished the car so its anyones guess atm on how long it will last lol. There is a post about bypassing the water lines, its not in the wiki so should be somewhere in the tech section. Personally wouldnt bother tbh.
