Flat head screwdriver it open, and then run a knife round the sealer. Clean the mating faces, wire brush drill bit, emery paper, whatever. Make sure theyre 100% dry. Make sure the sump surface is straight and true. Apply good sealer. Not too much or you'll end up with it blocking the oil pickup. And the 10mm bolts only go to something like 8Nm so dont go mental. And tighten them up the same kinda way youd do a cylinder head.

daniel_g replied to Ollieh17's topic in Lifestyle General
If i had a RS id be sitting in the back seat with my good mate stanley haha. Chop their fuckin hands off. -
Ive got a blue car with white doors and blue smoke pouring out the back haha.
-
If you were doing 1 it surely would have to be a 60mm to be able to cope properly, even if it is only 2 CT9s. Personally id be using 2 38mm, twin screamers haha

EBAY- starlet GT Silver Good project
daniel_g replied to fiddlersport's topic in eBay, BidJDM, Yahoo Auction Finds
Aint gonna be many silver GTs left soon... -
A Mines ECU is not ideal for a big build, i have had one on a TD04 setup, it was ok but still a mapped ECU will be far better. Punt it for 500 ono and put that towards another ECU. And if you want to run DIS ignition then a Mines wouldnt be able to do that.

Quality! Looking to be a good day! Im aiming to be there early doors to get a couple runs in before it gets really busy
-
You can use that full engine, be wise to put a thicker headgasket on but not totally needed. Theres a few ways to go about the conversion, have a look about the tech section should be a good few threads in there

dual core civic vs stock radiator
daniel_g replied to mikey4410's topic in 4E-FTE Engine Discussions
The civic dual cores are really good, much better than the shitey oem rad, i ran my 85 without a rad for nearly a month and also ive no heater system, using a oem thermostat aswell. Not once did it overheat, even after a heavy drive and idling at the lights etc. Had the 3 core in the old GT. Both were half sized rads -
You dont even need to swap the engine mate, you can turbo that one, its a Gen1 FE in the Gi which is basically a GT engine with different pistons, they are way stronger than the later FE engines.
-
Nice starter car buddy, these are 100ps so go very well, much faster than a UK N/a

Got my engine mounts today, only paid yesterday and they were sent 1st class a few hours later! Absolutely spot on! One of the best sellers on the forum!! Thanks a lot dude

Buying new they are very dear and theres not that many options really. HKS and Blitz nur spec, maybe a few other goof ones. Then theres the copy systems like Japspeed and J Performance. Personally id find a backbox you like the look off, like a 5zigen or a R*SR or something and go for that. If the middle sections are fucked (they normally are at this age) then get a 2.5" straight through made up.
-
Aye be easier just to swap the shaft haha. Nah man i havent done inners on a 4paw shaft, ive not even looked at them properly, are they different to GT / Glanza inner CVs?
-
Thats exactly what i had for my winter car!!
-
Wrong! I hate doing CV boots haha, thats why ive had two sets of dog shit stretchy boots on these shafts in a month or so. And theyve burst again! Those Crail runs killed them haha
