When I take my cap off the oil shoots all over the bay.. And if I rev it, it pisses out!

I'm going through all the same shit atm mate what did your problem turn out to be? I've smoke from the breather an not the exhaust, low an crappy idle, an itdefinately sounded off a cylinder! The headgasket was soaked in petrol on mine too. Dunno wtc is so far!

@Hawwy, I don't think so mate tbh! @Jhandy, not completely apart as I'm not too keen on stripping the bottom end. If it is ringlands ile leave it to just get them stripped and replaced @Taggy, thanks mate im gonna hafta give the block to someone to look at for me,

I'm having roughly the same problem right now, stripped my engine to find the cylinders are all fine and just the normal small bit of play in the pistons .for the big ends moving!

mate ive owned my starlet 9 months and in that time ive replaced the turbo, clutch, 2 radiators, 2 manifolds, and my engine shit itself last month but its far too much fun to sell. lol, these are one of the easiest cars to fit a new turbo because of where its located so its nothing to worry about! p.s weve had every Golf gti there is and id rather have an ep with no engine anyday!!

Smoke started pouring out of the breather filter a few weeks back so we got the engine stripped at the weekend, left a bit confused as the cylinders are fine and the pistons have no play in them! Someone from ECC said they're 99% its a burnt out valve although a leakdown test didn't show any problems. How can I tell for sure? Get a pressure test done on the head + the block ? 2 things we noticed were a lot of oil in the inlet manifold - possibly valve stem oil seals? Would it be anything else? And also the headgasket was soaked in petrol! Would this have anything to do with the problem and force the gas (blue smoke) into the oil galleries/sump/breather etc? Need all your advice here lads Any advice appreciated
